Pakistan court rejects Musharraf's plea for exemption from attending court case
Quetta: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Quetta Tuesday [25 November] rejected former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf's request for exemption from attendance in a case pertaining to the murder of Baloch nationalist leader Akbar Khan Bugti, Dawn News reported.

Pakistan court extends bail of former provincial chief in murder case
Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday [27 June] granted 15-day extension in interim bail to former Balochistan chief minister Jam Muhammad Yusuf in the murder case of former Balochistan governor Nawab Akbar Bugti. Bugti's son alleged that former president Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, former governor of Balochistan Awais Khan Ghani, former Balochistan CM Jam Yousaf and former provincial home minister Shoaib Ahmed Nausherwani had committed the murder of his father. He further said the applicant is a political leader and he was chief minister of Balochistan when Bugti was killed, adding, he was abroad when Bugti's murder case has been registered against him.\" SHC had already granted him interim/pre-arrest bail of 0.5m rupees and Wednesday the court extended it for 15 more days, he added.

Baloch says Balochistan is passing through a very complex situation, adding that the fifth military operation in the province is at its peak in Balochistan. Continuing, Baloch says the PPP government has further deteriorated the situation. Baloch says Balochistan suffers from insurgency and lack of governance, and adds that the establishment in Islamabad believes that it can control the situation by pressurizing the people in Balochistan. Baloch says the arrest of Shahzain Bugti will convey negative message to Balochistan, and will further increase restlessness among the people. Sharif asks Baloch when the fifth military operation started in Balochistan. Baloch does not answer the question and goes on to say that the fundamental thing is that Former Balochistan Governor Akbar Bugti did not compromise on the issue of gas. Baloch provides details of the events, which increased confrontation between the government and Akbar Bugti, who was later killed by security forces. Baloch says the negotiations are the only solution of Balochistan.
Pakistan bans Baluchistan leader from travelling abroad

Bugti, head of the Bugti tribe leads the Baluch nationalist movement which demands more autonomy for the region.
Pakistan forces kill 25 militants, seize ammunition in Baluchistan

Police said that the explosion had occurred in the residence of Abdul Jalal, an Afghan refugee who was living with his family in Qili Spain in Kuchlak. Jalal, his four-year-old son Noorullah, six- year-old daughter Shamilizai and another woman were injured.
Pakistan top court says killing of Balochistan ex-governor \biggest mistake\
Quetta: Terming the murder of former Balochistan governor, chief minister and Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) founder [Talal Akbar Bugti] 'the biggest mistake', Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday expressed his dissatisfaction over the over-all law and order situation in Balochistan, saying that there could be no peace until the Dera Bugti issue was resolved. A 'missing person' recovered from Dera Bugti, Bansra Bugti, recorded his statement in the court and said that after he was brought from Dera Bugti, he was shifted to Chaman and jailed in a police station. \"Without police nobody can do this,\" Talal Bugti said and added that Bansra Bugti's statement was recorded in Quetta. Justice Chaudhry asked why Home Secretary Nassebullah Khan Bazai was quiet over the situation.

The court also issued arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf's guarantors, [Sohail Rajput] informed journalists. \"Investigation team is not fulfilling its responsibility with regards to probing the murder of [Nawab Akbar Bugti],\" Rajput complained. Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, the son of Nawab Akbar Bugti, had nominated Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and other high-ups in the murder of his father. The Balochistan High Court had already issued arrest warrants of the accused persons.
Pakistani refugees paint picture of death, suffering
More than 30,000 people are crowded into two camps -- one for Bugti tribesmen, the other for Marri tribesmen -- in desert terrain at Murid Bugti, about 160 miles east of the Baluchistan capital, Quetta. Refugees claim local administrators have prevented Pakistani charities from sending aid, which the government denies. Many in the Bugti camp accuse the government of settling hundreds of people from other tribes in their home district to neutralize the influence of an anti-government tribal chief, Nawab Akbar Bugti, who was killed in a military operation in August. Some camp residents said security forces had targeted them. A spokesman for the Baluchistan provincial government, Abdul Raziq Bugti, denied the charges, saying security forces target only \"anti- state elements\" in Dera Bugti.
