A royal coverup
2015
The long-rumoured treasonous behaviour of the late Duke and Duchess of Windsor is only one aspect, however, of the material covered in \"17 Carnations, The Royals, The Nazis and the Biggest Cover-up in British History.\" The first half of the book documents the fateful romance of the newly minted King of England and his twice-divorced American love, Wallis Warfield Spencer Simpson. Less than a year after succeeding his father as monarch in 1936, Edward abdicated because of \"his inability to carry the heavy burdens of kingship without the help and support of the women he loved.\" Behind the glamorous royal mask was a self-indulgent man seething with insecurities and who so loathed his job of \"princing\" that he contemplated suicide on several occasions. Notes [Andrew Morton]: \"The mute immovable reality was that he did not believe either in himself or his future position as Sovereign.\" At one point, the Germans devised a plan - Operation Willi - to kidnap the duke if he wouldn't play ball. When he finally decided to obey orders to become Governor of the Bahamas, the German agent cabled Berlin, \"Willi won't play. Willi says no.\"

2 guilty of trafficking big loads of marijuana
Officers followed a car from the house to the Guzman-[Christopher Wayne Francis] house in the 5200 block of Camino Laguna Seca, Deputy Pima County Attorney Richard Wintory told jurors. Inside the house, officers found two guns, cash and notes indicating someone had bought nearly 6,700 pounds of marijuana from drug traffickers in Mexico for between $550 and $650 a pound, Wintory said. The notes indicated they then sold the marijuana for more than double that amount and shipped it to Florida and Pennsylvania. They ended up being rearrested when a separate Drug Enforcement Administration investigation revealed Francis and Guzman were still in business, Wintory said.

Drug-trafficking trial under way for 3
2008
Arrested along with [Rohan Livingston Butler] was the man authorities believe headed up the drug ring, Christopher Wayne Francis, and his girlfriend, Monica Guzman, both of whom lived in the Laguna Seca home, [Richard Wintory] said. [Brick Storts], who represents Butler, said that while Wintory told jurors it took Butler a long time to answer the door that day in September 2006, police say it only took one minute. He didn't have time to dump the marijuana over the wall, Storts said. \"There's not one iota of evidence Mr. Butler dumped anything over the back wall,\" Storts said. \"Just because you happen to know people and you happen to be someplace doesn't mean you conspired with them. You can't suppose maybe this happened or maybe that happened.\"
