New Data on the Distribution of the Little Known Fritillary Melitaea with Clarification of Its Type Locality
A specimen of the little known fritillary Melitaea (Mellicta) distans (Higgins, 1955) collected in China by the famous V.I. Roborovsky's expedition to Central Asia (1893-1895) was found in the collection of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The exact type locality of the species, situated near the Kok Terek River mouth in Northwest China, has been determined. Melitaeadistans is recorded from China for the first time.
