Research on the Practical Path of Integrating the Teaching of Modern and Contemporary Literature and Technology in Colleges and Universities in the Information Age
2024
Modern and contemporary literature in colleges and universities is a deeply learned and traditional humanities subject, and the development of Internet technology has a different impact on the form of teaching literature. This paper combines the MOOC platform for information technology with the teaching of modern and contemporary literature and establishes a blended teaching mode for both modern and contemporary literature. Aiming at the problem of personalized recommendation of literature teaching resources in blended teaching, this paper introduces the singular value decomposition to improve the collaborative filtering algorithm in order to meet the students’ efficient learning needs of current and contemporary literature. After the teaching experiment of the blended teaching mode of current and modern literature for the students of the class of 2021 in the sample universities, the reading breadth score of the students in the experimental group in current and contemporary literature reaches 3.72±0.61. The reading ability of the two groups of students shows a significant difference at the 1% level. Furthermore, students in the experimental group were 0.3 points more motivated to learn modern and contemporary literature than those in the control group. The integration of current and modern literature teaching with information technology can promote students’ learning interests and improve the quality of current and contemporary literature teaching.

Transformation and Innovation of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature in the Context of the Digital Age
2024
With the rapid development of digital technology, Chinese modern and contemporary literature is facing unprecedented challenges of transformation and innovation, and how to realize the innovation of literature in the context of the digital era has become the key. This study adopts a combination of natural language processing and knowledge mapping to analyze literary works’ narrative vein and character relationships. The research process includes text preprocessing, constructing co-occurrence matrix, LDA topic model analysis, knowledge graph construction and narrative line visualization. The results show that the performance of characters, emotions and plots in modern and contemporary literary works has significant characteristics, and the co-occurrence analysis reveals the close connection between literary works. Through clustering analysis and association rule mining, a significant correlation was found between the style of literary works and narrative content. It is concluded that Chinese modern and contemporary literature shows diverse narrative styles and thematic contents in the digital transformation, an important revelation for literary innovation and development.

Contemporary literature
2024
This paper first investigates the expressive features and developmental commonalities of Chinese modern and contemporary literary works, explains the paradoxical nature, and there are dilemmas in the expressive features by reviewing the data, and proposes the nationalized literary model and the cosmopolitan literary model, aiming to promote the development of Chinese modern and contemporary literature. Then, based on text mining techniques, atomic cuts are performed in the lowest fifth layer using Hidden Markov Models, and rough Chinese word splitting is performed using the n-shortest path method to find out the most likely n ambiguous word splitting results and text clustering analysis based on HMM-LDA topic models is performed on top of the splitting results. The results show that the HMM-LDA text recognition model is more accurate than the HMM text recognition model in terms of recall and accuracy of entity recognition in five categories of Chinese modern and contemporary literature: poetry, prose, drama, novel, and picture. Through this study, people gain a deeper understanding of modern and contemporary literature, gain some insight, and establish a foundation for promoting modern and contemporary literature.

Poverty and inequality have gained a new public presence in the United Kingdom. Literature, and particularly narrative literature, (re-)configures how people think, feel and behave in relation to poverty. This makes the analysis of poverty-themed fiction an important aspect in the new transdisciplinary field of poverty studies.
My Mother's Last Days
2019
\"Hello, Mom?\" I knock on the door at her house in heaven, my mother dead a few hours, a day or two, a lifetime. Later, at night, if you stick around as I, the haunted son, am forced to—night after night—replay the last act of her life in my mind, you'll hear her wailing behind the sturdy front door. Out of concern and nosiness, you'll hesitate to leave, standing uncertainly on the shabby doormat that welcomes nobody into the closed-up house, so dingy and frayed is it. At another time, same scenario, my mother reaching an apogee of unfiltered need for human company, \"Yes, I'm so lonely, Steve, so lonely,\" I'll say goodbye and hang up the phone in relief. Or maybe it's just me I'm talking about, and in fact my mother lived a reasonable life of connection and communion within the human family.

The Concept of “Capitalist Realism” in Literary Context: Reading Adrian Schiop’s Novels in Terms of the Sociology of Literature
2021
The first part of the article proposes a general overview of the notion of “capitalist realism,” introduced by Mihai Iovănel in his History of Romanian Contemporary Literature 1990‒2020 as one of the paradigms which help to read and classify post-Communist Romanian literature taking into consideration the political, social and economic conditioning of literary production. The second part of the paper aims to investigate the individual trajectory of Adrian Schiop (b. 1973) ‒ one of the authors classified by Iovănel as representatives of “capitalist realism,” whose literary and artistic work is defined by a high degree of social relevance. By deconstructing collective narratives and cliches, Schiop proposes a polemical point of view on post-Communist society, occupying at the same time the position of a very self-conscious agent within the Romanian literary field.

Formas de irse de casa: el tiempo propio de Romina Paula
This paper focuses on Romina Paula's work, on how, within her literary, theatrical and cinematographic production, a temporal experience that is both untimely and intimate and that differs from the 24/7 logic is composed. My hypothesis, motivated by the double interest of exploring, on the one hand, how the present is being narrated in contemporary Argentine narrative and, on the other, what fictional outlets are being proposed to circumvent the accelerationist imperatives, argues that Paula's work, conceived as a true space of experimentation with time, rehearses an alternative -a practical and therapeutic solution- by making her characters run away from home. Rather than celebrating that the world has become less slow and enduring, Paula's women, in need of a break, escape from their fixed abodes in search of some time of their own.

62 EFFECT OF CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE COMBINED WITH PSYCHOTHERAPY ON THE MENTAL HEALTH OF PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESSES
2025
Background Schizophrenia, a chronic and disabling mental illness, affects approximately 1% of the world’s population. It is characterised by a range of symptoms including hallucinations, delusions, disturbed thinking and cognitive impairment. The traditional approach to treating schizophrenia has centred on antipsychotic medications and various forms of psychotherapy. However, recent research suggests that supplemental therapies such as complementary therapies supplemented with contemporary literature can enhance the effectiveness of traditional treatments by improving cognitive functioning and mood regulation. The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of integrating contemporary literature into psychotherapy on mental health outcomes for patients with schizophrenia. Methods A randomised controlled trial of 120 participants with schizophrenia diagnosed at our institution were selected for the study. All participants were divided into a control group and an intervention group of 60 participants each. The control group received standard treatment (antipsychotic medication and traditional psychotherapy) and the intervention group received the same standard treatment and a programme treatment involving reading and discussing contemporary literature. The intervention group participated in weekly programme treatments, reading and discussing selected works, focusing on themes related to mental health and personal experiences. The study used the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale (PANSS), the MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB), and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) were conducted to assess participants’ cognition and emotion. The entire experimental period was 12 months. Results Positive symptoms (hallucinations and delusions) decreased by 25% (P<0.05) and negative symptoms (social withdrawal and emotional flatness) decreased by 30% (P<0.05) in the intervention group after 12 months. Cognitive functioning in the intervention group as measured by the MCCB improved by 15% (P<0.05) compared to the control group. Emotion regulation in the intervention group improved DERS scores by 20% compared to the control group (P>0.05). The results showed that there was a correlation between the level of engagement with literature and the improvement of participants’ symptoms and cognitive functioning (R=0.56, P<0.001). Specific results are shown in Table 1. Discussion Findings suggest that integrating contemporary literature into psychotherapy can significantly improve mental health outcomes for people with schizophrenia. Using literature as a therapeutic tool appears to enhance emotional expression and cognitive engagement, leading to better symptom management and improved social functioning. The study highlights the potential of complementary therapies in mental health treatment and calls for further research into how literary engagement affects cognitive and affective processes in people with schizophrenia.
