Tumor necrosis factor–α (TNF-α) blockers are a popular therapeutic choice in a number of inflammatory diseases. Thus far, five TNF- α blockers have been approved for clinical use (etanercept, infliximab, adalimumab, golimumab. and certolizumab). Despite being considered relatively safe, serious side effects associated with immune suppression have been reported, including central and peripheral nervous system (CNS) demyelinating disorders. It is still elusive whether these events are mere coincidence or a side effect of anti-TNF-α use. In this paper, we review the published case reports of CNS demyelination associated with anti-TNF-α therapy and present the follow-up of our 4 previously reported patients who developed neurologic symptoms suggestive of CNS demyelination after having received anti-TNF-α treatment. We also discuss the possible role of TNF-α blockers in demyelination.

Integration is the act of bringing elements together to form a homogenous whole. Brexit is breaking this concept of integration. The construction of Europe, which began in the 1950s, has blotted out the seeds of warmongering nationalism in the Old Continent. Europhobia fuelled by immigration, the political upheavals in Africa and the Middle East, the economic crisis and growing hyper-terrorism are all structural as well as cyclical factors in the implosion of the EU. After the British vote on the \"Leave\", exit agreements were formalised between the EU and the United Kingdom, the act of which has geopolitical, geo-economic, geo-strategic and geocultural consequences for both the European Union and Great Britain and for Africa, as well as for US-EU relations. It should be noted that the EU will lose one of its two permanent member states in the UN Security Council. The Brexit is an element that affirms the idea that the sovereignty and national interest of states take precedence over anything else in international life. Brexit has exposed the failure of the European integration process as a model school. In this way, it has exposed the limitations that integration organisations would suffer from leaving the phase of economic and monetary union to political union.

Les deux chapitres suivants décrivent tour à tour une phase de conflits linguistiques intenses (1848-1927), liée à l'industrialisation et aux réformes étatiques - notamment scolaires - qu'elle a inspirées, puis une période d'apaisement relatif (1927-1963), premier modus vivendi linguistique canadien, qui prend la forme d'accommodements mutuels (mais bancals) entre élites communautaires de langue anglaise et française au nom de la « bonne entente ». Le quatrième (1963-1969) s'attarde aux multiples revendications émergentes de l'heure et aux tentatives de canalisation de celles-ci au sein de Commissions d'enquête étatiques, alors que le cinquième (1969-1982) est axé sur les changements légaux et constitutionnels qui ont découlé de ces mobilisations, qui consacrent l'aménagement linguistique comme un domaine de régulation obligatoire de l'État. Si l'axe Québec-Ottawa avait déjà été exploré de manière poussée et nuancée par de nombreuses études (tout comme, dans une moindre mesure, les axes Nouveau-Brunswick-Ottawa et Ontario-Ottawa), les politiques des diverses provinces en matière linguistique ainsi que la sensibilité des diverses populations n'ont jamais été mises en relation comme elles le sont ici.

La photographe victorienne Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879) et l’écrivaine Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) étaient parentes, puisque Maria Pattle, sœur de la photographe (née Julia Margaret Pattle), était la grand-mère de l’écrivaine. Les nombreuses biographies consacrées aux deux artistes mentionnent sans réellement s’y attarder un ancêtre quelque peu mythique, le « chevalier de L’Étang ». Virginia Woolf, dans son Journal intégral , a plusieurs fois fait référence à quelques ancêtres, mais il semble que ses connaissances n’allaient pas au-delà de ce que la tradition familiale lui avait transmis. C’est sur les traces de ce mystérieux chevalier que se lance cet article, fondé sur un minutieux travail d’archives. Il ne propose pas une étude littéraire de l’œuvre de Woolf, ni une analyse artistique des photographies de Cameron, mais plutôt une enquête de type généalogique et historique sur des antécédents familiaux lointains qui éclairent aussi un pan de l’histoire de la présence anglaise dans le sud de l’Inde. L’article commence par retracer la légende du chevalier, avant de pousser plus avant dans les documents d’archives. The renowned Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879) was the sister of Virginia Woolf’s maternal grandmother, Maria Jackson née Pattle. Although a lot has been written about Cameron and Woolf, biographers usually do not try to go further back than the Pattles’ maternal grandfather, Ambroise-Pierre, the so-called “chevalier de L’Étang.” Even Virginia Woolf, who frequently mentioned members of her family in her Diaries, does not seem to have known more than the family legends. This article, based on extensive archival work, presents itself as an investigation into Cameron’s and Woolf’s distant ancestors, while also shedding light on British presence in South India. One will not find here a study of Cameron’s photographic production, nor of Woolf’s literary work, but a genealogical and historical analysis, uncovering new material. The article starts with the legends around the “chevalier,” before examining original archival material.

Quelle est l'aptitude du Cameroun à faire face aux enjeux de l'ordre global ? Il s'agit d'un ordre multipolaire marqué par la percée de puissances émergentes et la remise en cause des équilibres stratégiques qui s'étaient construits à partir de la chute du bloc soviétique et jusqu'en 1991. L'Afrique elle-même est devenue un enjeu de la compétition hégémonique entre les super puissances, et ces affrontements impactent le Cameroun. Construire un État développementaliste capable implique une mise en ordre des enjeux domestiques. Cela suppose aussi de définir une posture face au monde, avant de mettre en forme la stratégie la mieux indiquée pour faire face aux enjeux de l'ordre global multipolaire.
