Founded in 1870, the company was known as Beringer Blass Wine Estates, but renamed in 2001, after Australian beer maker Foster's bought and joined it with Mildara Blass, and with Southcorp Wines Americas (2006). Foster's spun off its global wine arm, Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), in 2011. Part of TWE, Treasury Wine Estates Americas sells some 30 million cases of wine a year, generating 40% of its parent's sales.

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke will not play in this summer's Big Bash League, instead opting to join the Nine Network's commentary team.
