Cloud computing and digital media : fundamentals, techniques, and applications
\"While some related books cover separate aspects of digital media and cloud computing, none integrate both of these areas together. Bridging the gap between digital media and cloud computing, this book brings together technologies for media/data communication, elastic media/data storage, security, authentication, cross-network media/data fusion, inter-device media interaction/reaction, data centers, platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS). The book also covers interesting applications involving digital media in the cloud. \"-- Provided by publisher.

2023
Aircraft information service systems, such as airborne information systems, airborne integrated maintenance management systems, and cabin management systems, have greatly improved the ease of use and maintenance of civil aircraft. The current computing platforms used for accommodating these systems are unable to satisfy the multifaceted requirements of future information-based aircraft, such as energy conservation, emission reduction, high-performance computing, and information security protection, due to their high computing capacity, weight, and power consumption. Based on multi-core multi-threaded processors, a security hardware unit with microkernel virtualization technology and a virtualization airborne trusted general computing service architecture is proposed, and key technologies, including a high-performance processing and high-security hardware unit, virtualization management software unit, and virtualization security protection architecture were designed. By building a verification environment, the proposed platform was verified in terms of its application accommodation function, platform performance, and network security protection, for comparison with the existing platforms. The results showed that our method can fulfill the requirements of these technical indicators and is applicable, not only to new-generation civil aircraft, but also to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and emergency rescue aircraft with high-performance safety-critical computing needs.

As a large social structure, the health care system is often reflected in media publications. This creates a significant impact on society's attitude towards the system and the state in general. In order to predict and correct state policies, media actions, and identify media shortcomings, it is necessary to analyze the image portrayed by the media and the public's attitude towards it. In this article, we present the results of a multidirectional analysis of a corpus of media publications related to health care. We propose a method for analyzing the information image of health care formed by the mass media based on a topic model of a text corpus. The method evaluates reader interest in various healthcare topics, the dynamics of changes in publication sentiment, and the main information trends. The article presents the results of analyzing a corpus of mass media publications in Kazakhstan from January 2020 to January 2023.

2020
Keeping in view the growth of the technological frontiers, there is always a need for the development of reliable, fault tolerant and cost- effective interconnection networks (INs) which are the critical metrics to achieve the goal of parallelism. The main objective of this book is to design new fault tolerant interconnection network layouts capable of path redundancy among dynamic failures. New INs designs are proposed and their observed results are found promising when compared with some of the earlier networks. The book also covers the reliability evaluation of various industrial network topologies considering multiple reliability performance parameters (2-TR, broadcast and ATR). Finally, the book also focuses on reliability evaluation and comparison of various topologies considering connectivity among multiple sources and multiple destinations (MSMT) nodes.
Spinning up ServiceNow : IT service managers' guide to successful user adoption
This book teaches IT service managers how to onboard ServiceNow ITSM tools by evangelizing, educating, and coordinating their organization's service desk, developers, and stakeholders. Drawing on his own story of lessons learned in spinning up the adoption of ServiceNow throughout the Al Jazeera Media Network, application architect Gabriele Kahlout shows IT service managers how to launch automated ServiceNow ticketing tools in seamless integration with their organization's existing email and Active Directory. ...Shows IT service managers how to orchestrate their IT service desks and developers to facilitate the adoption and consumption of IT services by all users, supporting their various business needs while optimizing human-computer interaction and minimizing stress and productivity loss arising from poor human-system design. ... How to create a strategy to avoid common pitfalls that sabotage ITSM programs.-- Back cover.

Machine protection is a core task of real-time image diagnostics aiming for steady-state operation in nuclear fusion devices. The paper evaluates the applicability of the newest low-power NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX platform for image plasma diagnostics. This embedded NVIDIA Tegra System-on-a-Chip (SoC) integrates a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and Central Processing Unit (CPU) on a single chip. The hardware differences and features compared to the previous NVIDIA Jetson TX2 are signified. Implemented algorithms detect thermal events in real-time, utilising the high parallelism provided by the embedded General-Purpose computing on Graphics Processing Units (GPGPU). The performance and accuracy are evaluated on the experimental data from the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) stellarator. Strike-line and reflection events are primarily investigated, yet benchmarks for overload hotspots, surface layers and visualisation algorithms are also included. Their detection might allow for automating real-time risk evaluation incorporated in the divertor protection system in W7-X. For the first time, the paper demonstrates the feasibility of complex real-time image processing in nuclear fusion applications on low-power embedded devices. Moreover, GPU-accelerated reference processing pipelines yielding higher accuracy compared to the literature results are proposed, and remarkable performance improvement resulting from the upgrade to the Xavier NX platform is attained.
