Factors Influencing the Purchase Decision of Rural Consumers:A Study in the Rural Markets of Gujarat (India)
2022
The paper is an attempt to understand the purchase behavior of rural consumers with reference to selected FMCG product. This is done by studying factors influencing their purchase decision, counterfeit products and their use, and the role of retailers in influencing the purchase decision of rural consumers of Gujarat. There is a wide availability of counterfeit products in the rural markets of Gujarat and the people are sometimes kept away formt the genuine products. The marketing implications got for the study contributes towards understanding the profile of the villagers. The demographic profile is very important to the marketers to study the needs and preference of the customers as per their gender, age, education and income. This helps the marketers to design the strategies which would be useful in selling the products to customer of different age group, gender, education and income. Price and value for money has been found the most important factors. The rural customers would prefer any brand which would be either low priced, may be in their budgets or may give them the value for their money. The rural customers are well aware of all the brands but they are unable to distinguish between the genuine and the counterfeits. Also the retailers are an important medium to influence them to buy the products.

Luminescence anti‐counterfeiting: From elementary to advanced
2021
Luminescence anti‐counterfeiting derives from the easily changeable luminescence behaviors of luminescence materials under the regulation of various external stimuli (such as excitation light, chemical reagent, heat, and mechanical force, etc.) and luminescence lifetime, which plays an important role in preventing forgery of currency, artworks, and product brands. According to the numbers of changes of anti‐counterfeiting labels under various regulation conditions, luminescence anti‐counterfeiting can be classified into three levels from elementary to advanced: single‐level anti‐counterfeiting, double‐level anti‐counterfeiting, and multilevel anti‐counterfeiting. In this review, the recent achievements in luminescence anti‐counterfeiting are summarized, and the regulation of various factors to anti‐counterfeiting labels is discussed. Finally, existing problems, future challenges, and possible development directions are proposed in order to realize facile, quick, low‐cost, environmentally friendly, and difficult‐to‐replicate advanced luminescence anti‐counterfeiting. The luminescence of anti‐counterfeiting labels can be triggered or changed by excitation light, luminescence lifetime, chemical reagents, heat, mechanical force, or rotation. In this review, according to the numbers of changes of anti‐counterfeiting labels under various regulation conditions, anti‐counterfeiting strategies are classified into three levels: single‐level, double‐level, and multilevel anti‐counterfeiting, and the state‐of‐the‐art research on luminescence anti‐counterfeiting are presented.

2022
Creating a security material that carries distinct information in reflective color, fluorescence, and chiroptical property will enhance anti‐counterfeiting levels to deter counterfeits ranging from currencies to pharmaceuticals, but is proven extremely challenging. In this work, an advanced anti‐counterfeiting material, with three‐state of each mode reversibly converted into multi‐mode materials including reflective color, fluorescence, and circularly polarized luminescence signal, is constructed by loading photofluorochromic spiropyran (SP) and zinc ion (Zn2+) into the chiral liquid crystal. Under UV irradiation, the complexes of SP and Zn2+ will be transformed into merocyanine (MC) and MC‐Zn2+, while the energy transfer occurs from MC‐Zn2+ to MC. Upon heating, MC is easy to recover to SP, while the MC‐Zn2+ remains unchanged. The MC and MC‐Zn2+ can be transformed into the SP and Zn2+ under visible light irradiation. The three states of each mode can reversibly convert. Furthermore, the reflective color or fluorescence of each state shows different intensities under left‐ and right‐handed circular polarized filters, enabling easy distinguishing by naked eyes. The advanced anti‐counterfeiting method with multi‐state of each mode for multi‐mode encryption information output will provide a new concept for designing and fabricating multi‐mode anti‐counterfeiting materials, improving the security level for practical application. Advanced anti‐counterfeiting material has multi‐mode information outputs including reflective color, fluorescence, and circularly polarized luminescence signal. Each mode has three states, and the three‐state information can be reversibly converted. Assisted by the left‐ and right‐handed circular polarized filters, the intensity of reflective color and fluorescence of each state can be distinguished by the naked eye.
