Blueprint for my people
\"Blueprint For My People\" is a short film that illuminates the African-American experience by lyrically interweaving spoken-word narration of Margaret Walker's epic poem, \"For My People\" with contemporary images and rare 19th century cyanotypes (blue photographic prints known as \"blueprints\") of African Americans. By incorporating poetry, cyanotypes, contemporary imagery and graphics, the film captures the struggles of a people--through candid moments--whose lives created the context of American culture.

La cianotipia como recurso en el arte contemporáneo: una luz azul que no se apaga
El proceso fotoquímico conocido como cianotipia es uno de los medios de obtención de imágenes fotográficas más sencillos y a la vez más sugerentes que existen. Tras ser descubierta en la primera mitad del siglo XIX y ser utilizada ampliamente en el siglo XX para realizar copias de planos arquitectónicos ahora, en el siglo XXI y tras la popularización masiva de la imagen digital, parecía condenada a desaparecer. Sin embargo, las nuevas tecnologías han abierto nuevos caminos, por ejemplo, posibilitado creaciones híbridas (mediante la elaboración de negativos digitales para la obtención de cianotipos) o favoreciendo la difusión tanto de estas creaciones como de manuales técnicos a través de la red. Actualmente la cianotipia es un recurso utilizado en distintos ámbitos; junto a las aplicaciones pedagógicas o terapéuticas podemos encontrar unos significativos resultados artísticos en distintas partes del mundo, España entre ellas. La cianotipia como medio de formación e implementación de actividades artísticas para educadores que trabajan con enfermos de Alzheimer
Este artículo se corresponde con el desarrollo de unas Jornadas de Formación que incluían talleres con cianotipia para Técnicos de la Confederación Española de Asociaciones de Familiares de Personas con Alzheimer y otras Demencias (CEAFA). En dichos talleres se desarrolló la cianotipia, una sencilla técnica fotográfica que tuvo su máxima difusión en el siglo XIX. Este proceso por sus especiales características se adapta perfectamente a las necesidades de cualquier edad y situación especial, lo que hace que esta técnica sea idónea para dinamizar las actividades artísticas que realizan las personas que padecen esta enfermedad en una fase temprana o moderada. Una vez finalizados los talleres y asimilados los conceptos, la técnica fotográfica y las posibilidades que ofrece la misma, los profesionales han podido aplicar los conocimientos adquiridos en pacientes con demencia temprana, con el fin de mejorar sus condiciones psicosociales, optimizar su comunicación y generar hábitos de superación personal.

\Impresiones en azul\. La cianotipia como agente catalizador de la mejora psicosocial y fomento de la comunicación de las personas con demencia temprana
\"Impressions in blue\" is the generic name given to several workshops belonging to an Art Education program targeted to people with early dementia, carried out in the State Centre for the Attention to People with Alzheimer Disease and other Dementias, in Salamanca, dependent on the IMSERSO. The aim of this program was assessing if the implementation of artistic activities could be an efficient strategy for promoting wellbeing and psychosocial, cognitive and communication capacities in people with early dementias and, therefore, improve the caring systems for the elderly with early dementias. Dementia didn't cause any problem while developing the workshops; the interest shown by the participants was remarkable, obtaining positive reactions in regard to their psycho-social wellbeing; it was observed an increase in communication amongst the participants, not only in their personal relationships but also in their contact with the outside; lastly, it is worth highlighting the models that can be developed in the early dementia care.
