The dialectic of \nobodyness\ and delinking: decoloniality in Darcy Ribeiro and its contribution to organizational studies/A dialetica da \ninguendade\ e o desprendimento: a decolonialidade em Darcy Ribeiro e sua contribuicao para os estudos organizacionais/La dialectica de la \nadiedad\ y el desprendimiento: la decolonialidad de Darcy Ribeiro y su contribucion a los estudios organizativos
The globalization movement has highlighted the hegemony of the central countries in the production and dissemination of knowledge in management and organizations. The knowledge produced in this geopolitical configuration starts from a locus of enunciation that has a universalizing character and ignores the idiosyncrasies of Brazilian society and culture, revealing incongruities when analyzing our practices and organizations, disregarding the thinking of intellectuals and academics. In this theoretical essay, we argue that Darcy Ribeiro contributes to reflection on the identity of theories reproduced in organizational studies in Brazil. We propose a link between Darcy Ribeiro's concept of \"nobodyness\" and the theoretical approach of delinking developed by Walter Mignolo, as an expression of re-existence and a response to the imperative of historically locating the space and dynamics of the study of the organizational field. As a theoretical contribution, the decolonial option and Brazilian social thought can support a new look at organizational and academic reality in the field of organizational studies. From Pre‐Darcy Flow to Darcy Flow in Porous Media: A Simple Unified Model
Extensive experiments have demonstrated that fluid flow in low‐permeability media deviates from Darcy's law at low pressure gradients, which is called pre‐Darcy flow. Although numerous pre‐Darcy flow models have been proposed, these models generally contain one or more empirical parameters with no clear physical meaning. In this paper, we present a simple unified model to describe pre‐Darcy flow in porous media by introducing the concept of loss permeability. The physical meaning of the loss permeability parameter and its relationship to permeability are analyzed. Based on the statistics of the loss permeability parameter results of 24 core samples, we found that there is a good positive correlation between the loss permeability parameter and the absolute permeability. A smaller loss permeability indicates a stronger fluid‐solid interaction and a stronger nonlinearity between the flow velocity and the pressure gradient. Taking a one‐dimensional linear unsteady flow of a slightly compressible fluid in a homogeneous porous medium as an example, we solve the pressure diffusion equation based on the proposed model using a finite difference method. Our results demonstrate that the rate of pressure propagation for pre‐Darcy flow is slower than that for Darcy flow for the entire observation period, which corrects previous conclusions. This study is highly important for improving the understanding of fluid flow in low‐permeability media. Plain Language Summary Pre‐Darcy flow usually occurs in low‐permeability media when the pressure gradient is very low. As the pressure gradient increases, the flow gradually transitions from the pre‐Darcy flow to Darcy flow. For a long time, pre‐Darcy flow and Darcy flow were described using two relatively independent equations, which is highly inconvenient. Because it is very difficult to accurately determine the critical pressure gradient between the pre‐Darcy flow and the Darcy flow, especially for the fluid flow in natural low‐permeability reservoirs. How to perfectly unify the pre‐Darcy flow and the Darcy flow in a simple and easy‐to‐use model is a scientific problem that has been researched for decades. Although several unified models have been proposed in recent years, they all contain one or more empirical parameters with no clear physical meaning. In this study, we propose a simple unified model to describe the flow from the pre‐Darcy flow to the Darcy flow in a porous medium by introducing the concept of loss permeability. Then, we discuss the relationship between the loss permeability parameter and permeability based on a series of experimental data from published papers. Finally, we analyzed the pressure propagation feature for a one‐dimensional linear unsteady flow of a slightly compressible fluid in a homogeneous porous medium. Key Points A simple unified model is proposed to describe the flow from pre‐Darcy flow to Darcy flow by introducing the concept of loss permeability The physical meaning of the loss permeability parameter and its relationship to permeability are analyzed The pressure propagation characteristics of pre‐Darcy flow and Darcy flow at the field scale are analyzed
Darcy Ribeiro's racial thinking and the 'dialectic of nobodyhood'/ O pensamento racial de Darcy Ribeiro e a 'dialetica da ninguendade'
The article proposes to examine Darcy Ribeiro's racial thought as an interpreter of brazilianness. In the first place, articulating his confrontation with Gilberto Freyre, through the analysis of Darcy's preface to the Spanish edition of Casa-grande e senzala published by Biblioteca Ayacucho in Venezuela in 1979. It observes the caustic humor of the preface writer faced with Freyre's 'colonialist anthropology', emphasizing the methodological and ideological incompatibility between them. Then, it goes back to The brazilian people, Darcy's iconic work, to better explain the dialectical historical materialist perspective that supports the author in the construction of the 'dialectics of nobodyness' from the opposite point of view to Freyre, in which miscegenation is not synonymous with harmony. Instead of praising the 'good coloniser' and the authoritarian order, Darcy starts with violence as a 'colonial fact' that interrupts the course of the ethnic matrixes 'tupi', 'luso' and 'afro' and the complete helplessness of the first brazilian, the 'brazilindian' (brasilindio) who, from the 'nobodyness', is dialectically reborn as a 'new people', a unique and autonomous civilisation: the utopia. The conclusion is that Darcy's denial of racism or his adherence to the 'myth of racial democracy' is implausible although the focus on social inequalities distances it from the TEN's intelligentsia, giving centrality to the 'black multitude', to class and social democracy. Keywords: brazilianness; black multitude; racism; The Brazilian People; nobodyness. Quantitative Evaluation of the Onset and Evolution for the Non‐Darcy Behavior of the Partially Filled Rough Fracture
The non‐Darcy flow behavior in unfilled and fully filled rough fractures has been investigated thoroughly for decades. Natural fractures usually be partially filled with porous media due to long‐term internal and external dynamic disturbances and water flow erosion. However, how to evaluate the nonlinear seepage characteristics of the partially filled rough fracture (PFRF) is never scrutinized. In the present study, 2D direct numerical simulations are conducted to investigate the non‐Darcy behavior for flow through 6 PFRF models under different filling conditions (i.e., filling degree, roughness, and hydraulic conductivity capability of the filling medium), which included coupling between the free and seepage flow in the unfilled and filled region, respectively. The results show that the critical non‐Darcy factor E = 0.02 can be used to judge the onset of the non‐Darcy regime in PFRF, which is also the critical point of eddy region (ER) volume mutation. The higher the filling degree and the weaker the hydraulic conductivity of the filled medium, the more significant the non‐Darcy behavior. Furthermore, the variation of ER volume can be divided into three stages with the increasing inertia effect, that is, stable stage (E < 0.02), slow nonlinear growth stage (0.02 ≤ E ≤ 0.1), and rapid linear growth stage (E > 0.1). In addition, a new model for quantitatively evaluating the non‐Darcy behavior of PFRF is developed via gene expression programming based on 735 simulation data set, which is further employed to establish the relationship between the friction factor. Plain Language Summary The nonlinear flow behavior in partially filled rough fractures (PFRF) was investigated by using 2D simulations. The simulation results revealed a critical non‐Darcy factor of 0.02 to determine the onset of non‐Darcy behavior in PFRF. Higher filling degrees and weaker hydraulic conductivity of filling region intensified the non‐Darcy effect. The volume of eddy regions exhibited three stages of variation with increasing inertia effect (i.e., stable stage, slow nonlinear growth stage, and rapid linear growth stage). We developed a new model based on gene expression programming to quantitatively evaluate PFRF's non‐Darcy behavior. This study enhances the understanding of fluid flow in partially filled rough fractures, benefiting for advancing the understanding of nonlinear seepage and solute transport in partially filled rough fractures. Key Points Critical non‐Darcy factor E = 0.02 can be used to determine the onset of the non‐Darcy regime Volume evolution of eddy region can be classified into stable, slow nonlinear growth, and rapid linear growth stages A nonlinear seepage model is developed for partially filled rough fractures

Darcy–Brinkman analysis of thermo-vibrational convection in gyrotactic swimmers: an overstability theory
This paper investigates Darcy–Brinkman thermal convection in the stratified porous saturated suspension of active particles subjected to vertical oscillation. For a heated layer, in the context of no-slip boundaries, the derived critical numbers are found to be real-valued, which signifies that the mechanism of convection is through the stationary mode, although for a certain range of heat parameters, oscillatory convection is inevitable. The dispersion expressions are developed to characterize the stationary and overstability thresholds of the system using the Galerkin method. An attempt has been made to analyze and substantiate the significance of important parameters such as modified Darcy number ( D a ) , wave number ( α ȷ ) , and Rayleigh numbers [bioconvection ( R b ) , thermal ( R a ) , and their vibrational analogs ( R v , R t ) ] for the representative ranges of Péclet ( 1 ≤ Pe ≤ 2 ) and gyrotactic ( 1 ≤ G ≤ 5 ) numbers. While incremental gyrotactic propulsion encourages the decrease in bioconvection strength, higher Péclet values induce the suspension to stabilize. Porosity has a destabilizing effect that considerably lessens the ability of vertical vibration to stabilize. The layer becomes unstable due to the thermal-oscillational connection of the thermal vibration parameter, which slows the development of bioconvection blooms.
