DELPIT'S SURE GOT THAT SWING
2006
[Tim Hall] let Delpit swing away, and Delpit blasted a drive over the left-field wall for a walk-off three-run homer, lifting Peninsula to a 6-4 comeback win over Mira Costa. As successful as Delpit has been throughout her career, Hall said Delpit began her senior season in a major slump. [Kim Sturgeon] said the Panthers fed off Delpit's work ethic. At the team banquet last week, the team was watching a picture slide show from the season and there was a picture of Delpit taking the ball away from a surprised Krista Gould at shortstop.

Peninsula falls in a heartbreaker
2005
The lone base on balls came in the fatal fourth with one out and loaded the bases for [Erika Girard], a freshman who had already hit five home runs this season. Peninsula coach Tim Hall said he issued the walk and might have put too much \"undue pressure\" on [Alnes] by looking for the easy force out. In the second inning, Peninsula third baseman Kat Delpit fell to the ground suddenly while running through first base on a routine flyout. Delpit stayed down for about five minutes and had to be carried off the field on the shoulders of two of her coaches. She did not reenter the game. Delpit's absence hindered a lineup that had trouble as it was dealing with starter Carissa Bronson (22-7). Bronson struck out six and allowed just four hits. Right fielder Katie Manchester ended Peninsula's only real threat in the sixth inning when she threw out Michele Astiazaran at home after Alnes singled to help Chino Hills (22-7) seal the win.

Her pivotal strikeout came in the fifth inning, when she managed to fan pinch hitter Anissa Zambrano for the final out with a runner on third base. \"Alnes was very poised. Monica doesn't get rattled,\" said [El Modena] coach Steve Harrington, who also coaches Alnes in club team play. \"She can concede a bad pitch.\" Whether it was zoning out or using the Force to get outs, the real lift came from [Kat Delpit]'s third home run of the season, Alnes said.
