Ragu Kanan, 38, was a rubber tapper eking out a living at a plantation in Bahau, Negri Sembilan to feed his wife and children. Life was not easy, but the family managed to get by. Unable to settle the debt, Ragu and his family were allegedly \"sold\" for RM2,000 to another \"slave master\", who claimed to own a plantation in Bahau. Jempol district police chief Supt Meor Hamdan Meor Mohd said investigations had started, but they faced difficulties as Ragu had refused to return to Bahau and Rompin to help in the probe.
