DIE KONSULNLISTEN IN DEN FASTI OSTIENSES: ERGÄNZTE UND NEUE NAMEN
2024
The annual entries in the Fasti Ostienses always began with the list of consuls, arranged according to the dates on which they took office. For many years parts of the list of consuls have been preserved in the Fasti, albeit often with gaps or only with incomplete names. Thanks to some new fragments of the Fasti Ostienses, but above all thanks to a large number of so-called military diplomas, it is possible to supplement the names of consuls or to add previously unknown names to the existing lists. This can be done for the following years: 82, 85, 92-93, 97-98, 102, 108, 115-116, 141-142, 152-153, 159.

A TUTELA JURÍDICA DO NASCITURO:reflexões para a eficácia dos direitos fundamentais
2015

The signaling value of a high school diploma
2014
This paper distinguishes between the human capital and signaling theories by estimating the earnings return to a high school diploma. Unlike most indicators of education (e.g., a year of school), a diploma is essentially a piece of paper and, hence, by itself cannot affect productivity. Any earnings return to holding a diploma must therefore reflect the diploma’s signaling value. Using regression discontinuity methods to compare the earnings of workers who barely passed and barely failed high school exit exams—standardized tests that students must pass to earn a high school diploma—we find little evidence of diploma signaling effects.

Technology acceptance and academic willingness in supporting the offering of diploma in applied artificial intelligence at polytechnic Malaysia
2025
The rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) necessitate a corresponding evolution in technical and vocational education (TVET) to meet future workforce demands. This study investigates the critical factors influencing the successful implementation of a new program to be offered in polytechnic Malaysia which is Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence. Using a blended theoretical framework drawing from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), this paper examines the technology acceptance of key stakeholder who specifically focus on academic and management staff of PolyCC and suggest a model AIMED. Additionally, it explores the construct of academic willingness, which encompasses a faculty’s readiness to adapt to new curricula, acquire new pedagogical skills, and embrace institutional change. A mixed methods approach used by combining questionnaire data and semi-structured interviews, was embedded to gather insights into perceived usefulness, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The findings from this simulated study suggest that perceived usefulness is the strongest predictor of academic willingness, while facilitating conditions, particularly adequate training and resource allocation, moderate the relationship between technology acceptance and actual curriculum adoption. The paper concludes with strategic recommendations for PolyCC’s leadership, focusing on a robust faculty development plan and a collaborative, bottom-up approach to curriculum design to ensure the long-term success of the new diploma program venturing in artificial intelligence.

Subspecialisation in radiology in Europe, a survey of the accreditation council of imaging
2023
BackgroundTo provide an overview of existing Subspecialty Exams and Diplomas in Radiology and their endorsement as well as to providing an insight into the status of subspecialisation in radiology in Europe. The European Training Curriculum for Subspecialisation in Radiology mentions thirteen fields of subspecialisation within radiology. The websites of the corresponding subspecialty societies were checked for Subspecialty Exams and Diplomas. In addition, we performed a survey among European radiologists regarding subspecialisation in radiology.ResultsTen out of 13 European subspecialty societies offer a European subspecialty diploma. At least 7 out of the 10 European subspecialties societies in radiology offering a European subspecialty diploma obtained European Society of Radiology (ESR) endorsement. Two out of 10 obtained European Union of Medical Specialists—Council of European Specialist Medical Assessment endorsement. Survey among European radiologists who were ESR full members in March 2021 demonstrated that almost 20% of respondents indicated that they have no subspecialisation. Another 15% indicated that their area of subspecialisation is not recognised in their country of work. Eighty-four percent of respondents would like their area of subspecialisation in radiology to be officially recognised. According to the respondents, the major benefit of having their subspecialisation in radiology officially recognised is personal interest (45%).ConclusionsThere is a desire for more subspecialty recognition in radiology among European radiologists. Therefore, European subspecialty diplomas in radiology fulfil a need. Furthermore, there is room for further harmonisation and implementation on a European level regarding subspecialty training and recognition in radiology.Critical relevance statementAs there is a desire for more subspecialty recognition in radiology among European radiologists, European subspecialty diplomas in radiology fulfil a need and there is still room for further harmonisation and implementation on a European level regarding subspecialty training in radiology.Key points• Radiology has 13 subspecialties as per the European Training Curriculum for Subspecialisation.• Currently, 15 subspecialty diplomas are offered by European subspecialty societies in radiology• Members of the European Society of Radiology seek greater recognition of radiology subspecialties.

This article provides one of the first rigorous estimations of the labor-market returns to community college certificates and diplomas, as well as estimations of the returns to the more commonly studied associate’s degrees. Using administrative data from Kentucky, we estimate panel-data models that control for differences among students in precollege earnings and educational aspirations. Associate’s degrees and diplomas have quarterly earnings returns of nearly $2,400 for women and $1,500 for men, compared with much smaller returns for certificates. There is substantial heterogeneity in returns across fields of study. Degrees, diplomas, and—for women—certificates correspond with higher levels of employment.
