Audel Guide to the 2011 National Electrical Code
The NEC is updated every 3 years with some of the anticipated changes include new requirements to sections while some of the changes include entirely new articles. Some changes are revisions to existing requirements while others are deletions to some existing requirements. As with the last edition of this book the author will use an icon or other graphical feature to highlight all changes to the 2011 code from the 2008 version. The book is considered an easy reference tool for those individuals on the job in need of a handy reference without the bulk and formality of the code itself. Significant changes to wiring and protection sections as well as new coverae of hybrid electric vehicles and small wind turbine power generators are being made. As always there will be numerous small changes made throughout the book. In short if a change has been made to the code it will be covered in this book in an easy to read instructional way.

Analyzing Regulatory Rules for Privacy and Security Requirements
Information practices that use personal, financial, and health-related information are governed by US laws and regulations to prevent unauthorized use and disclosure. To ensure compliance under the law, the security and privacy requirements of relevant software systems must properly be aligned with these regulations. However, these regulations describe stakeholder rules, called rights and obligations, in complex and sometimes ambiguous legal language. These \"rules\" are often precursors to software requirements that must undergo considerable refinement and analysis before they become implementable. To support the software engineering effort to derive security requirements from regulations, we present a methodology for directly extracting access rights and obligations from regulation texts. The methodology provides statement-level coverage for an entire regulatory document to consistently identify and infer six types of data access constraints, handle complex cross references, resolve ambiguities, and assign required priorities between access rights and obligations to avoid unlawful information disclosures. We present results from applying this methodology to the entire regulation text of the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule.
Handbook on the wiring regulations: based on BS 7671-2001
This well established handbook, written and sponsored by the Electrical Contractors' Association and Select (formerly the Electrical Contractors' Association of Scotland), provides a detailed, authoritative guide to the Wiring Regulations, BS 7671: Requirements for Electrical Installations. As the regulations are not drafted by topic, the handbook will be particularly useful in guiding designers, installers, inspectors and testers round the various requirements. It gives practical guidance on how to approach new installations, extensions to existing installations, and the more extensive testing and inspection which are required. The handbook has been revised to take account of amendments introduced by BS 7671:2001 effective from 1 January 2002. The most significant changes are: · chapter 13 rewritten to include three sections on protection for safety, design and selection of electrical equipment · a new chapter 44 on overvoltage protection · a new chapter 48 on high fire risk situations · revisions to the requirements on rooms containing a bath or shower · new earthing requirements for the installation of equipment with high protective conductor outlets
