2020,2019
This book presents the three technologies used to deal with electronic circuits: MATLAB, PSpice, and Smith chart. It gives students, researchers, and practicing engineers the necessary design and modelling tools for validating electronic design concepts involving bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), field-effect transistors (FET), OP Amp circuits, and analog filters. This book presents analytical solutions with the results of MATLAB analysis and PSpice simulation. This gives the reader information about the state of the art and confidence in the legitimacy of the solution, as long as the solutions obtained by using the two software tools agree with each other. For representative examples of impedance matching and filter design, the solution using MATLAB and Smith chart (Smith V4.1) are presented for comparison and crosscheck. This approach is expected to give the reader confidence in, and a deeper understanding of, the solution.

Electric circuit analysis -- Data processing
2017,2012
This third edition illustrates the integration of the industry standard software as a tool for design verification and as a theoretical laboratory bench. The book presents examples of all types of power converters as well as circuits with linear and nonlinear inductors. A new chapter covers multi-level converters. Assuming no prior knowledge of SPICE or PSPICE simulation, the text provides detailed step-by-step instructions on how to draw a schematic of a circuit, execute simulations, and view or plot the output results. It also includes suggestions for laboratory experiments and design problems that can be used for student homework assignments.

Electric lines
2009
High frequencies of densely packed modern electronic equipment turn even the smallest piece of wire into a transmission line with signal retardation, dispersion, attenuation, and distortion. In electromagnetic environments with high-power microwave or ultra-wideband sources, transmission lines pick up noise currents generated by external electromagnetic fields. These are superimposed on essential signals, the lines acting not only as receiving antennas but radiating parts of the signal energy into the environment. This book is outstanding in its originality. While many textbooks rephrase that which has been written before, this book features: an accessible introduction to the fundamentals of electromagnetics; an explanation of the newest developments in transmission line theory, featuring the transmission line super theory developed by the authors; a unique exposition of the increasingly popular PEEC (partial element equivalent circuit) method, including recent research results. Both the Transmission Line Theory and the PEEC method are well suited to combine linear structures with circuit networks. For engineers, researchers, and graduate students, this text broadens insight into the basics of electrical engineering. It provides a deeper understanding of Maxwellian-circuit-like representations of multi-conductor transmission lines, justifies future research in this field.

Integrated circuits, Very large scale integration
2010
Used collectively, PSPICE and MATLAB®are unsurpassed for circuit modeling and data analysis. PSPICE can perform DC, AC, transient, Fourier, temperature, and Monte Carlo analysis of electronic circuits with device models and subsystem subcircuits. MATLAB can then carry out calculations of device parameters, curve fitting, numerical integration, numerical differentiation, statistical analysis, and two- and three-dimensional plots. PSPICE and MATLAB®for Electronics: An Integrated Approach, Second Editionillustrates how to use the strong features of PSPICE and the powerful functions of MATLAB for electronic circuit analysis. After introducing the basic commands and advanced features of PSPICE as well as ORCAD schematics, the author discusses MATLAB fundamentals and functions. He then describes applications of PSPICE and MATLAB for problem solving. Applications covered include diodes, operational amplifiers, and transistor circuits. New to the Second Edition Updated MATLAB topics Schematic capture and text-based PSPICE netlists in several chapters New chapter on PSPICE simulation using the ORCAD schematic capture program New examples and problems, along with a revised bibliography in each chapter This second edition continues to provide anintroduction to PSPICE and a simple, hands-on overview of MATLAB. It also demonstrates the combined power of PSPICE and MATLAB for solving electronics problems. The book encourages readers to explore the characteristics of semiconductor devices using PSPICE and MATLAB and apply the two software packages for analyzing electronic circuits and systems.

2012
A passive optical diode effect would be useful for on-chip optical information processing but has been difficult to achieve. Using a method based on optical nonlinearity, we demonstrate a forward-backward transmission ratio of up to 28 decibels within telecommunication wavelengths. Our device, which uses two silicon rings 5 micrometers in radius, is passive yet maintains optical nonreciprocity for a broad range of input power levels, and it performs equally well even if the backward input power is higher than the forward input. The silicon optical diode is ultracompact and is compatible with current complementary metal-oxide semiconductor processing.
