Power moves : ignite your confidence & become a force
The ability to determine your truth without judgment is the beginning of harnessing authentic power in Christ. When we do the work of embracing where we are, we create space for God's love to meet us in our most raw form and then polish us to shine like never before. Power does not lie in success, achievement, or performance. Power rests in humility, honesty, and the commitment to continuous growth. Open your eyes to the way that God sees you and awaken your boldness to effect change in the world by living out the truth of who God says you are with confidence.

Woman's Relationship with Herself
2005,2004
Woman's Relationship with Herself explores the relationship women have with themselves and demonstrates how this relationship is often dominated by debilitating practices of self-surveillance. Employing Foucault's notion of panoptical power, Helen O'Grady illuminates the link between this kind of self-surveillance and the broader mechanisms of social control, arguing that these negative practices prevent women from enjoying a satisfying, affirming relationship with themselves. Cultural factors that render women vulnerable to dissatisfying self-relations are identified and analysed and, drawing on the insights of Foucault, feminism and narrative therapy, the possibilities for developing a more empowering relationship with the self are examined.
This innovative contribution to feminist debates about gender and the self will be of interest to students and researchers in social psychology, feminist psychology, mental health studies and gender studies, and to practitioners in psychological therapies and counselling psychology.

Body image : the quest for perfection
2000
The statistics dealing with women, self-esteem, and body image paint a bleak picture: 80% of fourth-grade girls are on a diet at any given moment, and 20% of young American women have an eating disorder. Experts agree that dialogue and openness are two keys to solving a complicated social and psychological problem. This candid and thought-provoking video illustrates how such methods might work. In it, seven diverse college-age women share their feelings about their bodies during a three-day retreat. They explore some of the complex sources of their feelings and examine images of women's bodies in mass media. The discussions are at times humorous and at times powerfully moving, and include often-dramatic interactions between the seven women as they challenge one another's perceptions and stereotypes. The group is led by Dr. Michelle Wolf, Professor of Communications at San Francisco State Univ. and a noted researcher on body-image issues. She encourages the participants to articulate their frequently strong feelings about their bodies and guides them toward understanding those feelings and developing self-esteem and body acceptance. In the final segment of the video, the women explore possible solutions for themselves, for other women, parents, and authority figures such as teachers. 'Body Image: The Quest for Perfection' is sure to arouse and hold the interest of college students, who will empathize with the young women who are featured. The video will motivate lively discussion of vital issues in classes in psychology, women's studies, sociology, media studies, diversity, and counseling. It was produced by Kelly Briley and is enhanced by an excellent study guide.

Anxiety in women
1995
In The Cost of Competence Brett Silverstein and Deborah Perlick argue that rather than simply labelling individual women as, say, anorexic or depressed, it is time to look harder at the widespread prejudices within our society and child-rearing practices that lead thousands of young women to equate thinness with competence and success, and femininity with failure.

Cross-sectional studies
2021
The study aimed to explore the role of self-esteem and self-efficacy in
women empowerment among academic and administrative staff at Saudi
universities. A cross-sectional design was carried out at 15
governmental universities. A multistage cluster sampling technique was
used to select 5587 participants. Multiple linear regression was used
to analyze the predictive relation. Data collection included
socio-demographic variables, Rosenberg self-esteem scale, general
self-efficacy scale, and women empowerment scale. The results indicated
that study participants' self-esteem was equally distributed between
moderate (49.8%) and high (50.2%). Also, 66.9% of the participants had
high self-efficacy, and 86.8% had high total women's empowerment.
Regression coefficient showed that self-esteem (B=0.521, b=0.127,
t=13.785 and p<0.001) and self-efficacy (B=2.388, b=0.702, t=76.049
and p<0.001) are important predictors of the total women
empowerment. However, self-efficacy was observed to be the most
dominant predictor (t=76.049). The total model summary shows that 73.4%
of the women empowerment level can be predicted through self-esteem and
self-efficacy. The study results can be used as a base to build women
empowerment programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and help to
achieve the 2030 KSA vision regarding women empowerment. (Afr J Reprod
Health 2021; 25[1s]: 69-78).
Cependant, l'auto-efficacité a
