Grain Boundary Engineering in 3D Porous Silver Electrocatalysts for Enhanced COsub.2-to-CO Conversion
Silver is a promising electrocatalyst for electrochemical CO[sub.2] reduction reaction owing to its high selectivity and efficiency for CO production. However, it still faces a fundamental trade-off between reaction activity and stability. Here, we developed a three-dimensional coral-like porous silver (CP-Ag) catalyst through seed-assisted nanoparticle attachment synthesis, which creates a unique architecture featuring interconnected pores and stable grain boundaries (GBs) between constituent Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs). Compared to normal Ag NPs, CP-Ag demonstrates superior catalytic performance, maintaining >90% Faradaic efficiency (FE) for CO across a wide potential range (−0.6 to −1.0 V vs. RHE) while achieving 2-times higher current density. Importantly, CP-Ag demonstrated an impressive long-term stability by sustaining nearly 90% FE for CO approximately 40 h at a current density of −50 mA cm[sup.−2] in a flow cell. The enhanced catalytic performance arises from three factors: (1) the three-dimensional coral-like morphology increases accessible active sites and promotes charge transfer efficiency; (2) stable GBs between interconnected nanoparticles increase reaction activity; (3) more moderate binding on Ag (100) preferentially promotes *CO intermediate formation. Our findings highlight the importance of simultaneously engineering both morphological and crystallographic features to optimize silver catalysts for CO[sub.2] conversion.
The Role of Astronomy and Feng Shui in the Planning of Ming Beijing
Present day Beijing developed on the urban layout of the Ming capital, founded in 1420 over the former city of Dadu, the Yuan dynasty capital. The planning of Ming Beijing aimed at conveying a key political message, namely that the ruling dynasty was in charge of the Mandate of Heaven, so that Beijing was the true cosmic centre of the world. We explore here, using satellite imagery and palaeomagnetic data analysys, symbolic aspects of the planning of the city related to astronomical alignments and to the feng shui doctrine, both in its “form” and “compass” schools. In particular, we show that orientations of the axes of the “cosmic” temples and of the Forbidden City were most likely magnetic, while astronomy was used in topographical connections between the temples and in the plan of the Forbidden City in itself.
Economics students' behavioural intention and usage of ChatGPT in higher education: a hybrid structural equation modelling-artificial neural network approach
The Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer, popularly referred to as ChatGPT, is an AI-based technology with the potential to revolutionise conventional teaching and learning in higher education institutions (HEIs). However, it remains unclear which factors influence the behavioural intentions and the actual usage of ChatGPT among economics students in Ghanaian HEIs. In pursuit of this goal, we employed the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) to gain a better understanding of the antecedents influencing the behavioural intentions and actual usage of ChatGPT among economics students. The study surveyed 306 Ghanaian students enrolled in economics at a public university. These students were aware of the existence of ChatGPT applications. We applied a hybrid analytical approach, combining structural equation modelling and artificial neural network (SEM-ANN), to elucidate the causal relationships between variables believed to impact perceived trust, intentions, and actual usage. The results showed that design and interactivity have a significant impact on perceived trust. Similarly, perceived trust, social influence, performance expectancy, hedonic motivation, and habits drive behavioural intentions. Among the various factors influencing behavioural intentions, hedonic motivation emerged as the most dominant. Moreover, behavioural intentions and facilitating conditions significantly drive students' actual use of the ChatGPT. Nevertheless, ethics is not a significant factor in perceived trust, and effort expectancy does not affect behavioral intention. These findings, however, offer theoretical and practical contributions that can serve as guide for a thoughtful and responsible integration of AI-based tools as a future strategy to enhance education accessibility and inclusivity opportunities
A Study On The Effect Of Feng Shui Interest On Feng Shui Recognition Of Location And Management Performance: With Small Businesses As Subject
The purpose of this study is to derive the main factors of Feng Shui site recognition and the effect of the factors on the Management Performance of small business through the previous studies in order to investigate the relationship between Feng Shui interest and management performance for the sake of development of small businesses. In addition, the research is directed to the mediating effect of Feng Shui site recognition and adjusted mediating effect of entrepreneurship in the relationship between Feng Shui interest and management performance. First, the verification of the hypothesis, 'Feng Shui interest will have a positive influence on the Feng Shui site recognition', showed that Feng Shui interest had a positive influence on all the space placement, space shape, junction space, and topography. Second, the verification of the hypothesis, 'Feng Shui site recognition will have a positive effect on management performance', showed that Feng Shui site recognition had a positive effect on characteristics of Feng Shui site recognition such as space placement, junction space and topography, but not on space shape. Third, the verification of the hypothesis, 'Feng Shui site recognition will mediate the influence of Feng Shui interest has on management performance', showed that Feng Shui site recognition had a positive effect on characteristics of Feng Shui site recognition such as space placement, junction space and topography, but statistically not significant on space shape. Fourth, the verification of the hypothesis, 'innovation will control the mediating effect of Feng Shui site recognition in the path that Feng Shui interest affects management performance through Feng Shui site recognition', showed that innovation controlled the mediating effect. It is necessary not to confine the subject of research to small businesses, but to extend it to medium- or large-sized companies. In addition, it is necessary to research the impact of Feng Shui site recognition not only on the management field but also on other fields.
