(Principe) Forsyth, 80 of West Boylston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at UMass Hospital.Maria's husband of twenty-nine years, Leland C. Forsyth passed away in 1995. She is survived by two sons, Brandon C. Forsyth and his wife Kimberly and Scott C. Forsyth all of West Boylston; a sister, Adrianna Balderston of West Boylston; a step-granddaughter, Jessica Laine; a step-great grandson, Joseph Oliveras; man nieces and nephews.

  Mrs. Forsyth was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (DeSalvio) Principe, and graduated from Worcester School. She received her bachelor's from Clark University in education and later received her master's from Quinsigamond Community College. She was in the U.S. Air Force, where she served her country overseas for many years. She worked for the U.S. Embassy Schools teaching English in Pakistan and for Digital Equipment Corp., teaching English to children as a second language.

Man guilty of assault on mother
A West Boylston man pleaded guilty yesterday to dousing his mother with gasoline and threatening to set her on fire. Scott C. Forsyth, 29, of 63 Sterling Place, West Boylston, had been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (gasoline), attempting to commit a crime (arson) and malicious destruction of property. Mr. Forsyth allegedly covered his 65-year-old mother, Maria Forsyth, with gasoline Sept. 10 in the family's West Boylston home and then threatened to set her afire.
