Life after 'Idol'
2007
Mar. 3--\"American Idol\" contestant Paul [Frank Kim] was all smiles as eager fans gathered around him at San Jose's Santana Row shopping center earlier this week. So everything would have to be perfect. \"I knew going into that first week that if I didn't blow everybody away . . . I wouldn't get enough votes. And obviously I didn't blow everybody away because I was sick and (had a) horrible song choice,\" said Kim, who is still getting over his bronchitis and sinus infection. If all goes as planned, Kim hopes to be so successful his father - - his American idol -- can retire from the pool-cleaning business that was the basis for the younger Kim's \"Idol\" nickname of \"pool boy.\"
