Hot neighbors get 'Windfall,' summer run \Windfall\ 10 tonight NBC- Channel 11
Stripping the plot points down to the core, Peter (Luke Perry) is married to Nina (Lana Parrilla), the college sweetheart of Peter's childhood best buddy Cameron (Jason Gedrick). Cameron ditched Nina and married Beth (Sarah Wynter). They are now all neighbors, and while Peter is the best husband and father ever, Nina still longs for the sexy Cameron. And really, who wouldn't? You may remember Gedrick's appearance on \"Ally McBeal\" with the steamy car wash scene in which Ms. McBeal got more than her car waxed. Oh, what a delicious dilemma -- to watch Gedrick and Cotrona, or the British version of \"Buffy, the Vampire Slayer\" meets \"Charmed\"?
'FALCONE' TRIES OUT AN ODD SKED For 9 days, CBS will test series nearly nightly
The offbeat scheduling of \"Falcone,\" loosely based on the life of FBI Agent Tom Pistone, will allow CBS to try out the show before it makes decisions for the fall. \"We're just trying to do something a little bit different,\" said Kelly Kahl, CBS' vice president of program planning and scheduling. \"We're trying to get some attention for a midseason show we really like. We wanted to do something a little different, try to break through the clutter a little bit.\" \"Falcone\" stars Jason Gedrick (\"Iron Eagle,\" \"EZ Streets\") and Titus Welliver (\"Brooklyn South\"). Gedrick plays Pistone, an FBI agent who infiltrated the mob and whose life was depicted in the film \"Donnie Brasco.\"
HE'S ESTABLISHING NEW TIES TO THE MOB
[Jason] Gedrick has starred in two critically adored television series _ \"Murder One\" and \"EZ Streets\" _ that died for lack of viewers. Then, a year ago, his miniseries \"Mario Puzo's `The Last Don'\" was one of the runaway hits of the May sweeps _ despite predictions that it wouldn't compare with the classic 1972 Mafia movie \"The Godfather,\" based on Puzo's bestseller. \"I joked to the producers, `Now that it's such a big hit, are you going to spin it off into a TV series?' and they said, `Hey, that's an idea.' And I said, `No, it was a joke,'\" recalls Gedrick, who reprises his role as Cross De Lena in \"Mario Puzo's `The Last Don II,'\" which kicks off tonight. \"But maybe a month later, they said they had an idea for a sequel, and would I look at a script.\" The 32-year-old Gedrick is the star of this miniseries _ in fact, he's the title character. Kirstie Alley reprises her Emmy-nominated role as the tortured Rose Marie Clericuzio; Joe Mantegna, who reappears in what Gedrick calls \"surreal but believable\" dream sequences, is Cross' dead father, Clericuzio enforcer Pippi De Lena; and Danny Aiello plays the first \"Last Don\" (his Domenico Clericuzio character dies early in tonight's segment, shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday).
ON THE SLOW (BUT VERY STEADY) ROAD TO STARDOM
[Jason Gedrick] isn't on that road. Instead, the 30-year-old actor appears to have made all the right choices for all the right reasons. He's now starring opposite Ken Olin and Joe Pantoliano in CBS's \"EZ Streets,\" a decidedly downbeat police drama that's this close to cancellation. Gedrick doesn't complain. He just keeps working. \"I'm where I should be career-wise,\" the actor says during a recent visit to Manhattan. \"I shouldn't be any further than I am.\" He's not giving up on \"EZ Streets,\" even though he knows it's a long shot. Two of his co-stars, Ken Olin and Debrah Farentino, are working on pilots for new series this spring (although they would be contractually bound to return to \"EZ Streets\" if the show is renewed). The program ranked No. 88 in the ratings period ending March 16 - and at press time, the show's position is so precarious, critics wonder if CBS might summarily decide not to air its two remaining episodes, despite the network's assurances to the contrary. \"I think the audience has to hop on this train right now,\"
GEDRICK GOT START IN 'BAD BOYS'
ANSWER: Born and raised in Chicago, Jason Gedrick appeared as an extra in the 1982 movie Bad Boys while it was being filmed in the Windy City, and he struck up a friendship with actor Sean Penn, who encouraged him to stick with acting.
Desperate speculation puts men on altar; Rumours fly about series' secret plans
- Preview: With Tom (Doug Savant) sidelined by a back injury, [Lynette] hires [Rick Colletti] to help out at the pizza parlor against Tom's objections. \"There's an immediate chemistry,\" [Jason Gedrick] says. \"It's a great relief for Lynette that someone is noticing her.\" - Preview: [John Slattery] says the first time he shared a bed scene with [Eva Longoria], \"Ricardo (Chavira, who plays Gabby's ex, Carlos) came in to check on us.\" A likely candidate for a wedding with Gabby, Slattery says, \"I'm sure Carlos will have a thing or two to say about it.\" Colour Photo: Jason Gedrick ; Colour Photo: John Slattery ; Colour Photo: Dougray [Scott] ;
BOREDOM REIGNS IN A&E'S 'KINGS'
Instead, it's a giant bore. Nick Pileggi's meandering screenplay offers neither the insight into the criminal impulse nor the visceral thrills of amorality that undergirded \"Goodfellas\" and \"Casino.\" It's just a flat collection of cop-show cliches from which, eventually, even the capable cast -- including old \"Boomtown\" cop buddies Jason Gedrick as the [Chris Paciello] character and Donnie Wahlberg as his mysterious new best friend -- seems to disengage. When Gedrick says of a business rival that \"I wanna whack him so bad my teeth hurt,\" he sounds less like he's planning a murder than a trip to the dentist.
'Windfall' soon spends its creative capital
[Luke Perry], however, is far removed from his days as a teen heartthrob on \"Beverly Hills, 90210,\" and [Jason Gedrick] has an unfortunate track record for appearing in promising but under- performing series, from \"Murder One\" through \"EZ Streets\" to \"Boomtown.\" \"Windfall,\" in fact, might be the worst of the bunch. Gedrick plays Cameron, an admittedly \"complicated\" college professor. He's married to Beth, played by Sarah Wynter, formerly of \"24.\" They're best friends with Perry's Peter and his wife, Nina, played by Lana Parrilla, and the opening moments find them jointly playing host to a neighborhood party, where Nina and Peter's kids are collecting dollars for the big lottery that's all the news. Yet the money also drags in a former student of Cameron's, who suddenly insists he's the father of her child. (He's eloquently mum on taking a paternity test, much to Beth's chagrin.) Meanwhile, D.J. Cotrona's flower-delivery boy Sean wants to collect the cash, but without attracting a bunch of unwanted publicity for some mysterious reason. And Jon Foster's troubled teen Damien (How troubled is he? His e-mail address is \"damien666.\") gets around his parents' plan to take control of his winnings by spiriting a foxy mail-order Russian bride away from some nebbish and marrying her, making him an \"emancipated minor\" in exchange for her becoming a \"rich wife.\"

New drama The Beast turns cameras on media
The series (debuting 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, June 13) offers a glossy package of pretty reporters, clever sets and a nifty trick of turning the cameras not only on the stories but on those who sell them -- oops, tell them -- on WNS. \"Here's the pitch,\" he tells [Alice Allenby] in luring her from print journalism to WNS. \"People distrust the media. It's no big secret. But I think they hate us. ... we're just maggots feeding off the flesh of a story.\" \"It's real. It's newsworthy,\" swaggering WNS reporter Reese McFadden ([Jason Gedrick]) contends.
