To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee published in 1960 is still considered to be one of the most effective criticisms of racial prejudice depicting Atticus Finch as an example of a righteous person. However, the subsequent Go Set a Watchman (2015) has a different Atticus who seems to have changed his stand on race issues. This research employs Lucien Goldmann’s genetic structuralism with comparative analysis to trace the development of Atticus Finch’s approach to racism in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird (1960) and Go Set a Watchman (2015). This research examines the major social changes in the mid-20th century American South through Atticus' transformation from a hero for racial justice to a segregationist and racist. It explores how social pressures and personal struggles influence people's beliefs. This research further examines Jean Louise Finch's disenchantment with her father's changing views on race that portrays the generational and moral conflicts triggered by social transformation. The findings of this research are anticipated to offer profound understanding of how literature can mirror societal changes and offer valuable prescription for how the relation between history and literature can be understood.

Racial injustice refers to the unfair treatment of a specific race in a community, which disadvantages one race. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the social consequences of systemic racism and identify the various types of racial injustices experienced by Black people in the 1930s, as depicted in Wright's Native Son. Qualitative and descriptive methods, as well as Lucien Goldmann's Genetic Structuralism methods, were used. The results showed various forms of racism, including prejudice, negative stereotypes, segregation, and social isolation. These types of injustice have had a severe impact on African Americans, as seen through the protagonist, Bigger Thomas, who represented the constant state of fear, uncertainty, and frustration inflicted upon Black people. By uncovering the different kinds of racial injustice, this study emphasized the importance of societal reflection and action in eliminating long-standing racial biases and injustices.

Artykuł dotyczy propozycji spojrzenia na literackie obrazy zjawisk społecznych jako na przedmiot badań socjologicznych. Odwołuje się do Goldmannowskiego ujęcia strukturalizmu genetycznego, szczególnie do kierowanej wobec niego krytyki. Korzysta się tu z głosów wybitnych uczonych, którzy wyrażali o nim swoje opinie w okresie największej jego popularności; zaznacza się też aktualną obecność tego podejścia w humanistyce zachodniej. W refleksji nad możliwymi interpretacjami i modyfikacjami metody Goldmanna sięga się, między innymi, po jedno z opowiadań Jorge Luisa Borgesa, Pierre Menard, autor „Don Kichota\", które potraktowano jako artystyczną ilustrację teorii naukowej.

Zusammenfassung In diesem Aufsatz wird der Versuch unternommen, bestimmte Veränderungen im zeitgenössischen französischen literarischen Feld unter den drei Gesichtspunkten der mechanischen Kausalität (Produktionsbedingungen), der expressiven Kausalität (Weltanschauung und historische Narrative) und der strukturellen Kausalität (Feldeffekt) aufzugreifen und aus der Perspektive der longue durée neu zu vermessen. Die Marginalisierung der experimentellen Literatur im Feld des Verlagswesens aufgrund der Konzentrationen und des steigenden Rentabilitätsdrucks hat zu einer Repolitisierung dieser Literatur geführt, die jedoch nicht deren Heteronomisierung impliziert, da sie über einen Prozess formaler Entscheidungen und des Schreibens entsteht, in dessen Verlauf es zu einem Dialog mit der Geschichte des Feldes und zur Hinterfragung der Position und Rolle von Schriftsteller*innen in einer Gesellschaft kommt, in der das Storytelling den öffentlichen Raum erobert.

Este artigo, resultante de pesquisa empírica em escolas da Educaçâo Básica, tem como objetivo apresentar as tensöes vividas pelos professores pentecostais de História no ensino da cultura afro-brasileira determinado pela da Lei n.° 10.639/2003, em funçâo de suas convicçöes religiosas. A metodologia teve como fundamentos as categorias desenvolvidas por Lucien Goldmann e Paulo Freire a respeito da cultura e da aprendizagem. A metodologia de pesquisa foi quanti-qualitativa e os procedimentos incluíram, além da pesquisa de fontes bibliográficas primárias e secundárias, a aplicaçâo de um inquérito, com pesquisa de tendencia de opiniäo, e de entrevistas em profundidade semiestruturadas. O trabalho identificou prejuízos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem da História da África e Culturas Africanas, especialmente quando se trata dos componentes curriculares relativos a religiosidade afro-brasileira.

Çağdaş Fransız yazınının önemli yazarlarından biri olan Fas asıllı Tahar Ben Jelloun, doğup büyüdüğü ve yaşadığı topraklardan kopmayan ve yapıtlarında da Fas’ı ve bu coğrafyanın sorunlarını yansıtan bir yazardır. Yapıtlarında göç kavramı başta olmak üzere adalet, kimlik, ırkçılık, kültür, özgürlük, mültecilik, din ve etnik gibi çeşitli konuları ele aldığı için yazın dünyasında oldukça etkilidir. Ben Jelloun, 2006 yılında yayımladığı Gitmek (Partir) adlı yapıtında Fas’tan İspanya’ya göç etmek isteyen ya da göçe zorlanan anlatı kişilerinin yaşamlarını betimlemektedir. Gitmek adlı yapıt kırk bölümden oluşmakta ve her bir bölümde farklı anlatı kişilerinin göç ile ilgili düşünceleri, göç için ödedikleri bedelleri ve sonunda ulaşamadıkları arzuları anlatılmaktadır. Yapıtta, göç ile beraber cinsel ve bedensel saldırıya uğrayan kadın ve erkeklerin durumlarını da ele alan yazar, anlatı kişileri üzerinden Fas’ın toplumsal, kültürel, siyasal, dinsel ve ekonomik yapısını okura sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Gitmek adlı yapıtı, Lucien Goldmann’ın Oluşumsal Yapısalcılık adını verdiği toplumbilimsel yöntemle çözümlemektir. Goldmann, toplumsal, siyasal, ekonomik, dinsel ve kültürel değerlerin yazarın yapıtını oluştururken doğrudan etkili olduğunu ve yapıtı biçimlendirdiğini öne sürmektedir. Anlama (içkin) ve açıklama (aşkın) aşamalarından oluşan bu yöntemde yapıt ile yaratıcısı olan yazar ve yazarın ait olduğu toplumun dünya görüşü arasında bir ilişki kurmayı denemektedir. Gitmek, yapıtının iç bütünlüğünü sağlayan anlatı bakış açışı, uzam, zaman ve kişiler gibi yapısal özellikler, yazarın dünya görüşünü, ait olduğu Fas toplumunun kültürünü yansıtmaktadır. Buna göre toplumun huzursuzluğu bireylere yansımakta, sosyal, siyasi ve ekonomik nedenlerle bireyler zorlu ve tekinsiz göç yollarına düşmektedirler.

Her ikisi de gençlik yıllarında kendi ülkelerinde diktatörlük rejimini tecrübe etmiş olan Miguel Ángel Asturias ile Mario Vargas Llosa diktatörlüğün yol açtığı yıkımı dile getiren başlıca romancılar arasında yer alırlar. Yazarların, yayımlandıkları dönemde büyük beğeni toplayan eserleri El Señor Presidente ( Bay Başkan) ile La Fiesta del Chivo (Teke Şenliği) diktatörlüğün yarattığı korku toplumunu ve bunun sonuçlarını gözler önüne sererek karanlığı, zulmü, işkenceyi ve ölümü konu eder. Bu çalışma, söz konusu romanlar ekseninde diktatörlük temasını ve diktatör figürünü incelemeyi ve eserlerdeki toplumsal yapıları oluşturan anahtar kavramların neler olduğunu, nasıl bir ilişki bütünü sayesinde oluştuklarını açıklamayı hedeflemektedir. Çalışmada tarihsel ve toplumsal değerlerin oluşturduğu anlamlı yapıların eseri doğrudan etkilediğini ve bu sebeple bir edebi eserin, eser-toplum bağlantısı ön planda tutularak incelenmesinin daha kapsamlı sonuçlar ortaya koyacağını ifade eden Fransız sosyolog ve eleştiri kuramcısı Lucien Goldmann’ın oluşumcu-yapısalcı yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Ayrıca eserlerdeki otorite-itaat ilişkileri Erich Fromm’un düşünceleri doğrultusunda açıklanmaya çalışılmış, toplumsal yapı ve ilişkilere dair değerlendirmelerde ise Norbert Elias’ın düşüncelerine yer verilmiştir.

A partir de una imagen (Amparo Emperador sentada en las penumbras de un carro de tren) parto para hacer un análisis de la protagonista de la novela Tormento en el que desarrollaré tres aspectos: el conflicto de la psique entre el ello y el súper-yo, el héroe problemático que propone Lucien Goldmann en su libro Para una sociología de la novela y la crítica contra la sociedad española previa a la Revolución del 68 que realiza Galdós. Estos tres aspectos revisados los realizo a partir de la psicocrítica y el análisis marxista de la literatura.

This paper makes a comprehensive explanation of Lucien Goldmann and Pierre Macherey's contributions to the marxist literary theory, whose thought has circulated very poorly on the hispanic academic field. By confronting their original ideas with the principal thesis of the most classical and consolidated marxist aesthetics (the adornian and the luckasian), we observe the significant influence that they exercised in others schools of thought and, at the same time, how conditioned they were by the structuralism and poststructuralism.
