Several Orthodox Jewish students have been quoted in the campus and local papers emphasizing that Orthodox Jews have had positive experiences living on the Yale campus. Those students pointed out that Yale has implemented several policies to accommodate observant Jews, allowing students to purchase kosher meals on the Yale meal plan and issuing manual keys for students who wish to avoid using the standard electronic keycards on Shabbat. \"They should be able to live off campus without paying a fine,\" [Sheila Sullivan] said. \"However, if Yale is not going to change its policy, the students shouldn't sue. The students knew the policy before they came.\"
