By June 1953 the Korean War, marked at the outset by extremely fluid advances and retreats up and down the peninsula, had settled into position warfare very near the original pre-war demarcation line between North and South Korea. At this point both sides were fighting to win a peace, to achieve incremental advantages that could be translated into gains at the peace negotiations in Panmunjom. These last days of the war saw savage battles for control of important local terrain features, and in the trench warfare of the Chorwon Valley a young U.S. Army lieutenant was assigned to lead an infantry company charged with holding Outpost Harry against a determined Chinese assault. The battle devolved into hand-to-hand combat during a period of constant, intense fighting that lasted two days. The author, although seriously wounded that night, refused evacuation and remained on the hill to successfully lead his company in defense of the outpost. It wasn’t romantic; it wasn’t chivalrous; and many died or were badly wounded. Some of the survivors never fully overcame the mental and physical damage they suffered during the nightmare. With this book, one of those scarred by that experience recounts the events of the battle and his lifelong efforts to deal with the residual horrors. The Korean Conflict may be called “the forgotten war” by some, but not by those who were on the front lines.

Retenons qu'une particule chargée en mouvement est soumise aux deux champs qui sont : le champ électrique (E) et le champ magnétique (H) Cet article fera l'objet d'une étude dans un champ électrique uniforme en tenant compte du référentiel de laboratoire de physique du département de physique et des sciences appliquées de l'université nationale (UPN) RD Congo/Kinshasa-Ngaliema. A cet effet, nous avons utilisé pour notre expérience : - Deux plaques métalliques ; - Un canon à électron ayant une cathode et une anode ; - Un générateur de Basse et Haute tension ; - Un écran (surface plane de projection de la lumière). L'objectif de cette étude est d'établir les différentes équations du mouvement d'une particule chargée dans un champ électrique (E) uniforme dans un repère de projection (O: i,j,k ).

Three years after the release of the album by the same name (and has it really been three years already?), the current iteration of the group still seems a bit conceptually jarring, not least because bassist (and former Replacement) Tommy Stinson's clean blazer and spiked bedhead was entirely dissonant with the tattoos, leather, and skull imagery of most of the others.

Looking like an alien mantis, jaws parted as if to bite the head off a giant fly, [Axl Rose] disdained credibility at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday night while injecting further histrionic fizz into the vocal melodies of turn-of-the-'90s GNR ballads such as the buoyant \"Sweet Child O' Mine\" and the tenderly overfragranced \"November Rain\"; if he had ever drawn genuine emotion from his weeper repertoire (doubtful), those days were dust. Still, a creepy artificial buzz always rewards the absorption of Rose's headlong muggery, and when he had nothing in mind but rocking his butt off (\"It's So Easy,\" \"You Could Be Mine\") and polluting his liver (\"Mr. Brownstone,\" \"Nightrain\"), he took everybody along on his ambulance joyride.
