The Cstf2t Polyadenylation Gene Plays a Sex-Specific Role in Learning Behaviors in Mice
Polyadenylation is an essential mechanism for the processing of mRNA 3' ends. CstF-64 (the 64,000 Mr subunit of the cleavage stimulation factor; gene symbol Cstf2) is an RNA-binding protein that regulates mRNA polyadenylation site usage. We discovered a paralogous form of CstF-64 called τCstF-64 (Cstf2t). The Cstf2t gene is conserved in all eutherian mammals including mice and humans, but the τCstF-64 protein is expressed only in a subset of mammalian tissues, mostly testis and brain. Male mice that lack Cstf2t (Cstf2t-/- mice) experience disruption of spermatogenesis and are infertile, although female fertility is unaffected. However, a role for τCstF-64 in the brain has not yet been determined. Given the importance of RNA polyadenylation and splicing in neuronal gene expression, we chose to test the hypothesis that τCstF-64 is important for brain function. Male and female 185-day old wild type and Cstf2t-/- mice were examined for motor function, general activity, learning, and memory using rotarod, open field activity, 8-arm radial arm maze, and Morris water maze tasks. Male wild type and Cstf2t-/- mice did not show differences in learning and memory. However, female Cstf2t-/- mice showed significantly better retention of learned maze tasks than did female wild type mice. These results suggest that τCstf-64 is important in memory function in female mice. Interestingly, male Cstf2t-/- mice displayed less thigmotactic behavior than did wild type mice, suggesting that Cstf2t may play a role in anxiety in males. Taken together, our studies highlight the importance of mRNA processing in cognition and behavior as well as their established functions in reproduction.

Racialized Casteism: Exposing the Relationship Between Race, Caste, and Colorism Through the Experiences of Africana People in India and Sri Lanka
Contemporary South Asian sociality is marked by signifiers of race, caste, ethnicity, and colorism. Examining the particular social inequalities and marginalization experienced by Africana people in these societies uncovers the dialectical interrelationship between caste, race, and colorism. This yields an understanding of how race and its more trenchant inflection, racism, function in South Asia. Interpreting implications for Africana politics in South Asian societies requires a theorization of these categories. Racialized casteism is an analytic that reveals the relationship between race, caste, and colorism in South Asia and highlights how Africana presence indisputably raises the significance of race thereby intensifying the outcomes faced by Siddis and Kaffirs.

THE PURSUIT OF HISTORICAL OBJECTIVITY IN THE CLAIM THAT THE JEWS KILLED JESUS CHRIST
Tales about Jesus Christ are infinite because of the mixture between myth and reality in the examination of historical Jesus. However, there is a need to re-examine the sequence of events that led to the killing of Jesus Christ. Available evidence as demonstrated in this paper entirely exonerates the Jews in the annihilation of Jesus Christ. Most importantly, the context of historical objectivity points to the direction that Jesus Christ was a victim of the mob who can either be or not the Sadducees, Pharisees, Romans, or the Jews. The Jewish involvement in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was adumbrated and doctored by the synoptic gospel crusaders of Matthew, Luke, Mark, and John in their defense of certain status quo not built on historical realities.

William Herschel, Flamsteed Numbers and Harris’s Star Maps
The paper discusses the origin of the commonly used Flamsteed star numbers, which are missing in John Flamsteed’s British Catalogue (1725) and accompanying Atlas coelestis (1729). Johann Elert Bode introduced these numbers in the Sammlung Astronomischer Tafeln (1776). Herschel independently created them in 1781 for his third star review. At that time he purchased Flamsteed’s Atlas coelestis and the question arises, which star chart did he use before, especially when Uranus was discovered. This leads to two star maps, linked to the Welsh astronomer Joseph Harris and based on stars whose positions were measured by Flamsteed and Halley.

Revision
Revision, a part of the composing process, is the practice of making changes in a draft, often to do a better job of achieving a purpose or of engaging an audience. Composers revise at many levels of a given draft, sometimes to craft just the right expression, other times to help sentences work together, and still other times to make large-scale changes involving connections across ideas and rearrangements of major \"chunks\" of text. Revision is both a practice and an art, one that experienced writers benefit from and continue to craft. In addition, experienced writers understand that different kinds of writing tasks may call for different kinds of revision strategies.
