Heartbreak as Harrison misses final Eire Region
2010
[R Yan Harrison] said: 'i was a lot smarter than in the morning heats. There were still things that i could have done better but it's exciting because i know i can go faster. There's much more to come, though obviously i'm disappointed not to have made the final.' irish Performance Director Peter Banks said: 'it was a very good performance from Ryan, though he knows he could have gone quicker but he has shown that he belongs at this level and next time he should be in the final.' FAMILIES RENEW TIES TO HISTORICAL PEARL CITY DESCENDANTS OF PIONEERS HONORED
2008
The 2008 Pearl City Community Reunion's theme was \"family and community: dwelling together in unity.\" The reunion's chairman, John Martin, said the organization's mission is a \"God-led effort\" to reunite community pioneers and offspring of those descendants, and to develop a historical record of their families' lives in the neighborhood. \"There is in all of our history a moral value that has really been forgotten,\" said Martin, who grew up in Pearl City's Dixie Manor apartment complex. \"It meant family. It meant neighbors. It meant the neighborhood.\" \"You've got to start teaching these generations how valuable Pearl City is,\" [William Cooper] said. \"It's not just common ground, but it's holy ground.\"

PEARL CITY LOOKS BACK, FORWARD

But it's your community,\" said the Rev. William Cooper of Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church. \"... We don't have that togetherness. A READER of this column
2008
A READER of this column, R Harrison, of Windy Nook, has been in touch this week to say he supplied an answer some time ago to George Atkinson's trick question about which was the longest bridge in Newcastle City boundary? Last week we had indeed printed both George's question, as well as his answer, but guesses by other readers failed to make the column. To ask a question or provide an answer, e-mail liz.lamb@ncjmedia.co.uk or write to: Liz Lamb, Your Questions Answered, Evening Chronicle, Newcastle, NE1 1ED.
