Public memorial service confirmed in honour of train crash victims
2007
SHANE KELLY, SWAN HILL COLLEGE: It's been a real double whammy for Matty's mates. He left, he was leaving us last Friday with his last day here, he was returning to Queensland to be with his family up there and so last Friday Matty's mates said goodbye as they do in school days. They all wrote on his shirt and \"good luck mate\" and all that sort of stuff. So they had that goodbye and the of course Tuesday, Wednesday comes and they realise that their goodbye last Friday was a permanent one. MARTIN DIXON, ST SIMON'S PARISH: It is only the father and the husband who is left behind and he is, I think he's just disbelieving it and hoping they'll walk in the door. PHIL HESSE, ST SIMON'S PRIMARY SCHOOL: A very popular family, two delightful children. It's going to be a shock.
