Planets, Potions, and Parchments
1990
More than 200 rare scientific manuscripts, books, maps, amulets, and magical texts have been brought together from renowned collections in Europe, Canada, Israel, Great Britain, and the United States specifically for this exhibition. The most famous among these is a fragment from the Dead Sea Scrolls containing chapters 81 to 85 from the Book of Psalms: fragments from the scrolls have been in Canada on only two other occasions. The exhibition will have an Assyrian cuneiform tablet from the seventh century BCE that describes treatments for eye ailments, a first edition Copernicus, and several texts by Maimonides, including one with marginal notes by Martin Luther. Also featured, in a rare Latin translation, is an Arabic medical book written by a Jew, demonstrating the international and inter-faith nature of the medieval scientific endeavour.

2009
In 2005 Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen presented the exhibition 'The Limbourg Brothers. Nijmegen Masters at the French Court (1400-1416)'. This was the first time that original miniatures from four manuscripts by the Limbourg brothers were shown in the Netherlands. The exhibition formed an excellent opportunity to invite prominent scholars to share their views on the art of the Limbourg brothers during a two-day conference. This publication presents in written form the conference papers delivered by some of the leading scholars in the field.
A newly discovered portrait of Louis XII by Jean Bourdichon
2014
Louis d'Orléans was inaugurated as Louis XII, King of France, in 1498. He commissioned a Book of Hours from painter and manuscript illuminator Jean Bourdichon. The book eventually was dismembered. Since 1973, it slowly has been pieced back together. A portrait of the king has been discovered. It depicts a young king kneeling in prayer. It is assessed, along with the technique and career of Bourdichon.
