History: As we saw it
2000
The Ensign, a Catholic weekly, reported that Dr. Leopold Infeld announced he would go to Warsaw and teach in universities there. [George Drew] quoted the article, saying, \"[Dr. Infeld] is thoroughly familiar with the theory and much of the practical application of atomic energy.\" Dr. Infeld said the report was \"utterly untrue\" and he was sorry to hear Drew had been misled. He added he had never been an atomic scientist, nor had he anything to do with atomic research. - Premier Frost made his budget address to the Ontario legislature. Highlights included $500,000 toward agricultural research, with much of the funding intended to improve life in rural areas. The province established plans to extend power lines to service 30,000 farm residents, and to provide clear highways, athletic fields and community halls.
