2022
From the aspect of calculation theory, the beam–spring model method and modified routine method of shield tunnel segment structure calculation were improved, and an efficient integrated software system for segment structure calculation of shield tunnel was developed. The beam–spring method is generally calculated according to the assumption of continuous displacement between beams and joints, and the existing modified routine method assumes that the lateral pressure gradient is constant generally, which does not consider the variation in lateral pressure gradient caused by the difference in the lateral pressure coefficient of soil layers or the water level height, which has a certain deviation from the actual situation. The existing beam–spring method and modified routine method theory were improved, the discontinuous displacement between beams and joints in the beam–spring method was taken into account, and the problem of lateral pressure gradient change in the modified routine method was solved. The calculation software system developed by C# and python programming language was proposed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of segment structure calculation. Based on the actual monitoring data of the internal force of the shield tunnel segment and the adjacent shield tunnel segments under construction in Changsha, China, the segments of the shield tunnel with different cross-section sizes and different hydrogeological conditions are calculated to verify the reliability of the calculation software system. At the same time, combined with the calculation results of the software system and field test data, the stiffness reduction coefficient and equivalent foundation resistance coefficient in the modified routine method were derived to further improve the accuracy of the calculation results, which provided a new idea for the calculation of segment structure of shield tunnel with different diameters under different hydrogeological conditions.

2019
In this work, the authors have developed an integrated evaluation hierarchy for automotive human–machine interaction (HMI) software/hardware interfaces and a corresponding set of integrated evaluation carriers and decision modes, to improve the interactive experience and usability of HMI interfaces, evaluation node management in R&D processes, and the integral quality of hardware and software components. In addition, a case study where the integrated evaluation was performed on rapidly prototyped electric automotive user interfaces was utilised to demonstrate the evaluation of integral conceptual themes and system frameworks based on rapid prototypes. It was shown that the evaluation of integrated software/hardware electric automotive interfaces via rapid prototyping aids the communication and organisation of design concepts, thus enhancing the design quality.

Artificial neural networks
2017
Artificial neural networks have a wide range of applications. In some applications, specific hardware is necessary when a PC cannot be connected or due to other factors such as speed, price and fault tolerance. The difficulty in producing hardware for neural networks is associated with price, accuracy and development time. Most users also prefer the network trained with a high-level tool without reducing resolution and simplifying the activation function for hardware implementation. This paper proposes an automatic general-purpose neural hardware generator, simple to use, with adjustable accuracy that provides direct hardware implementation for neural networks with FPGAs without further development.

The pharmaceutical industry currently has computer systems that seek to optimize processes and allow the maximum performance of its resources through the use of computer tools. The objective of the work was to determine the costs and benefits of two different software in management of raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry. Methods: observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, study that compared ONDANET and SAP software in positive and negative costs inferred in the implementation of the tools and the benefits in terms of the profitability of the management of raw materials for the elaboration of pharmaceutical products. Results: it has been observed by using direct costs and benefits that the benefit-cost ratio of the SAP software implementation yielded a result of 15.37, whereas the ONDANET software presented a cost-benefit ratio of 0.05, which could have been demonstrated Conclusion: A widely favorable cost-benefit ratio was found for SAP Software compared to the previously used ONDANET Software, indicating that the new software used is profitable. It is desirable to periodically carry out this type of analysis to guarantee not only that the Pharmaceutical Industry has a greater profitability, without also being able to provide its products with continuity and at affordable prices for the population.

GSTools v1.3: a toolbox for geostatistical modelling in Python
2022
Geostatistics as a subfield of statistics accounts for the spatial correlations encountered in many applications of, for example, earth sciences. Valuable information can be extracted from these correlations, also helping to address the often encountered burden of data scarcity. Despite the value of additional data, the use of geostatistics still falls short of its potential. This problem is often connected to the lack of user-friendly software hampering the use and application of geostatistics. We therefore present GSTools, a Python-based software suite for solving a wide range of geostatistical problems. We chose Python due to its unique balance between usability, flexibility, and efficiency and due to its adoption in the scientific community. GSTools provides methods for generating random fields; it can perform kriging, variogram estimation and much more. We demonstrate its abilities by virtue of a series of example applications detailing their use.
