In the first five centuries of the common era, the kiss was a distinctive and near-ubiquitous marker of Christianity. Although Christians did not invent the kiss-Jewish and pagan literature is filled with references to kisses between lovers, family members, and individuals in relationships of power and subordination-Christians kissed one another in highly specific settings and in ways that set them off from the non-Christian population. Double Kissing Mini-Culotte Stenting in Unprotected Distal Left Main Bifurcation Under Optical Coherence Tomography Guidance: Immediate and Short-Term Outcomes
Culotte stenting is an effective strategy for left main coronary artery bifurcation lesions. Increased side branch ostial restenosis is the main drawback of culotte stenting. This is due to a napkin ring or potential gap produced at the ostium of the side branch. A bench study by Toth et al11 has shown that additional sequential kissing balloon dilation before main vessel stenting can prevent this deformity. We report immediate and short-term results of double kissing (DK) mini-culotte stenting with a 1-year angiographic follow-up. Between March 2020 and December 2022, 45 patients with distal left main (LM) disease underwent DK mini-culotte stenting at our center under optical coherence tomography guidance. Of 45 patients (male: 35 (77.77%); mean age: 63.67 ± 4.94 years), chronic coronary artery syndrome was present in 26 (57.8%) and unstable angina in the remainder. All lesions were Medina (1,1,1), (0,1,1), or (1,0,1), with a median Synergy between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score of 28 (interquartile range 23 to 29). All procedures were technically successful with no adverse clinical events (death, myocardial infarction, or stent thrombosis). Under optical coherence tomography guidance, adequate minimal stent area of 13.28 ± 0.77 mm2, 8.25 ± 0.29 mm2, and 7.54 ± 0.45 mm2 was achieved in LM, left anterior descending, and left circumflex, respectively. Adequate stent expansion of >80% was achieved in all cases. At the end of 1 year, the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events was 2.2%. Furthermore, restenosis of the side branch developed in 1 patient (2.2%), which was managed conservatively. DK mini-culotte stenting in the distal LM bifurcation has shown promising results and is effective in preventing side branch stent deformation and its sequelae of in-stent restenosis.

Reason and Condition for Mode Kissing in MASW Method
Identifying correct modes of surface waves and picking accurate phase velocities are critical for obtaining an accurate S-wave velocity in MASW method. In most cases, inversion is easily conducted by picking the dispersion curves corresponding to different surface-wave modes individually. Neighboring surface-wave modes, however, will nearly meet (kiss) at some frequencies for some models. Around the frequencies, they have very close roots and energy peak shifts from one mode to another. At current dispersion image resolution, it is difficult to distinguish different modes when mode-kissing occurs, which is commonly seen in near-surface earth models. It will cause mode misidentification, and as a result, lead to a larger overestimation of S-wave velocity and error on depth. We newly defined two mode types based on the characteristics of the vertical eigendisplacements calculated by generalized reflection and transmission coefficient method. Rayleigh-wave mode near the kissing points (osculation points) change its type, that is to say, one Rayleigh-wave mode will contain different mode types. This mode type conversion will cause the mode-kissing phenomenon in dispersion images. Numerical tests indicate that the mode-kissing phenomenon is model dependent and that the existence of strong S-wave velocity contrasts increases the possibility of mode-kissing. The real-world data shows mode misidentification caused by mode-kissing phenomenon will result in higher S-wave velocity of bedrock. It reminds us to pay attention to this phenomenon when some of the underground information is known.

Transcriptomics supports local sensory regulation in the antenna of the kissing-bug Rhodnius prolixus
Background Rhodnius prolixus has become a model for revealing the molecular bases of insect sensory biology due to the publication of its genome and its well-characterized behavioural repertoire. Gene expression modulation underlies behaviour-triggering processes at peripheral and central levels. Still, the regulation of sensory-related gene transcription in sensory organs is poorly understood. Here we study the genetic bases of plasticity in antennal sensory function, using R. prolixus as an insect model. Results Antennal expression of neuromodulatory genes such as those coding for neuropeptides, neurohormones and their receptors was characterized in fifth instar larvae and female and male adults by means of RNA-Sequencing (RNA-Seq). New nuclear receptor and takeout gene sequences were identified for this species, as well as those of enzymes involved in the biosynthesis and processing of neuropeptides and biogenic amines. Conclusions We report a broad repertoire of neuromodulatory and neuroendocrine-related genes expressed in the antennae of R. prolixus and suggest that they may serve as the local basis for modulation of sensory neuron physiology. Diverse neuropeptide precursor genes showed consistent expression in the antennae of all stages studied. Future studies should characterize the role of these modulatory components acting over antennal sensory processes to assess the relative contribution of peripheral and central regulatory systems on the plastic expression of insect behaviour.
