Car crashes after brakes badly fitted at driver's own garage
She said that [John Knowles] told officers that there was something wrong with the brakes but initial testing found no faults. However, further testing showed the brakes had not been fitted properly after the car had been serviced at Knowles' garage, which he has run for 11 years. Police told Knowles to complete a driver awareness course by way of punishment but he declined as he felt he 'hadn't done anything wrong.' . Defending, Richard Silver, who described the incident was an 'unusual case', said Knowles now accepts 'moral responsibility' for the crash, which happened on July 21.
