STATE POLICY OF USE AND STIMULATION OF LABOR RESOURCES TRADE
The article is devoted to the problem of the efficiency of the labor using in trade. The necessity of introduction of modern mechanisms and tools of personnel management in the work of trade enterprises is proved in this article. Recognized, that the ability of the continuous development of the sphere of trade, the apparent disproportion and the structural deformation of the employment market negatively related to the quality and effectiveness of the business and financial and economic results of management. This situation implies the need for intensification of the efficiency of the realization of labor and intellectual potential at all levels of economic relations. The main objective of the study is the factors that will ensure a convergence of social-labor interests of employees, employers and society. As a result, the formation and rational use of human capital and the high efficiency of labor will be ensured. Today, in spite of the increase in the level of employment and payments in Ukraine, there is still insufficient financial stimulation, an adequate need for trade workers, full support of the social support, protection and assistance that would meet international standards, and create insufficiently competitive job positions.
Global anti-unionism : nature, dynamics, trajectories and outcomes
\"One of the major obstacles, if not the major obstacle, unions face in building their influence in the workplace is the opposition and resistance from those that own those workplaces, namely, the employers. Global Anti-Unionism examines the nature and form of this anti-unionism, and in doing so explains the ways and means by which employers have successfully maintained their right to manage. The role of the state is also considered at length as part of the process by which employer domination has been maintained. Set in the context of the global north and south, this volume provides an introduction to the key theories and concepts, followed by historical and contemporary sections examining different countries\"-- Provided by publisher.
Monopsony in Motion
What happens if an employer cuts wages by one cent? Much of labor economics is built on the assumption that all the workers will quit immediately. Here, Alan Manning mounts a systematic challenge to the standard model of perfect competition. Monopsony in Motion stands apart by analyzing labor markets from the real-world perspective that employers have significant market (or monopsony) power over their workers. Arguing that this power derives from frictions in the labor market that make it time-consuming and costly for workers to change jobs, Manning re-examines much of labor economics based on this alternative and equally plausible assumption. The book addresses the theoretical implications of monopsony and presents a wealth of empirical evidence. Our understanding of the distribution of wages, unemployment, and human capital can all be improved by recognizing that employers have some monopsony power over their workers. Also considered are policy issues including the minimum wage, equal pay legislation, and caps on working hours. In a monopsonistic labor market, concludes Manning, the \"free\" market can no longer be sustained as an ideal and labor economists need to be more open-minded in their evaluation of labor market policies. Monopsony in Motion will represent for some a new fundamental text in the advanced study of labor economics, and for others, an invaluable alternative perspective that henceforth must be taken into account in any serious consideration of the subject.
Hard work in new jobs : the quality of work and life in European growth sectors
\"Hard Work in New Jobs investigates hard work and new and expanding jobs in Europe. The interrelationship between the labour market and welfare regimes, quality of work and quality of life is played out at many levels: the institutional; the organizational level of the company and its customers or clients; the level of everyday life at the workplace and beyond it; and the level of workers' careers and biographies. So far, there have been limited attempts to connect these levels in analysing the interrelationship between job growth, quality of work and quality of life. The present book aims to do just that and connects analyses of the structure and meaning of 'hard work'. The book explores the configurations and factors that shape 'hard work' on the European level, the levels of European and national sectors, the levels of companies and the career trajectories and experiences of workers in catering, cleaning, construction, elderly care, and waste management\"-- Provided by publisher.
Marketing Dreams, Manufacturing Heroes
InMarketing Dreams, Manufacturing HeroesAnna Romina Guevarra focuses on the Philippinesùwhich views itself as the \"home of the great Filipino worker\"ùand the multilevel brokering process that manages and sends workers worldwide. The experience of Filipino nurses and domestic workersùtwo of the country's prized exportsùis at the core of the research, which utilizes interviews with employees at labor brokering agencies, state officials from governmental organizations in the Philippines, and nurses working in the United States.
The effect of regional integration on the efficiency of enterprise resource allocation
Based on a micro-entity perspective, this paper empirically examines the effect of regional integration on the efficiency of enterprise resource allocation. Firstly, regional integration can significantly reduce the degree of resource mismatch of enterprises and improve the efficiency of resource allocation of enterprises overall. Secondly, regional integration can improve the efficiency of resource allocation of enterprises mainly through three channels, which are alleviating the financing constraints of enterprises, improving the degree of talent agglomeration, and reducing the operating costs of enterprises. Thirdly, the effect of regional integration on improving the efficiency of enterprise resource allocation is heterogeneous, which has a greater effect on the efficiency of resource allocation for state-owned enterprises, enterprises in non-monopoly industries, large-scale enterprises, and enterprises in coastal areas. Finally, regional integration improves the productivity of enterprises by optimizing their resource allocation level. The enterprise management level positively moderates the effect of regional integration on the efficiency of enterprise resource allocation. Therefore, some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.
Analysis of the Impact of International Migration on the Financial and Economic Cooperation of Countries
Purpose:  The aim is to study the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of the analysis of international migration and identify its impact on the financial and economic cooperation of countries.   Theoretical framework:  The development of cryptocurrencies by banking institutions operating in the online environment provides for the purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies on stock exchanges, not on crypto exchanges, allowing the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment and investment.   Design/methodology/approach:   The methodological basis of the study is built on general and special methods of economic analysis and scientific cognition, namely: system analysis, synthesis, scientific abstraction, comparison, analogy, statistical analysis, functional-systemic approach, graphical and tabular methods, generalization, systematization, grouping, k-means clustering method.   Findings:  The obtained results of the study allowed us to establish that in today's conditions the processes of international migration have significantly aggravated and have a significant impact on the formation of the basic principles of financial and economic cooperation of countries. The largest migration flows from Ukraine to European countries have been identified, which is due to the intensification of the financial, economic, humanitarian, and socio-political crisis caused by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It has been proven that the greatest destructive impact of international migration is experienced by such countries as Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Hungary, where the largest number of refugees and socially vulnerable populations is concentrated.   Research, Practical & Social implications:  A significant level of financial support to Ukraine from highly developed countries has been established. This is manifested in the provision of significant amounts of credit and grant assistance. It has been suggested to strengthen interstate cooperation between countries in the field of migration to overcome the crisis.   Originality/value:  proposals have been made to form a set of measures to regulate migration flows and balance the international labor market.
Estimating labor resource requirements in construction projects using machine learning
Purpose Existing labor estimation models typically consider only certain construction project types or specific influencing factors. These models are focused on quantifying the total labor hours required, while the utilization rate of the labor during the project is not usually accounted for. This study aims to develop a novel machine learning model to predict the time series of labor resource utilization rate at the work package level. Design/methodology/approach More than 250 construction work packages collected over a two-year period are used to identify the main contributing factors affecting labor resource requirements. Also, a novel machine learning algorithm – Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) – is adopted to develop a forecasting model that can predict the utilization of labor resources over time. Findings This paper presents a robust machine learning approach for predicting labor resources’ utilization rates in construction projects based on the identified contributing factors. The machine learning approach is found to result in a reliable time series forecasting model that uses the RNN algorithm. The proposed model indicates the capability of machine learning algorithms in facilitating the traditional challenges in construction industry. Originality/value The findings point to the suitability of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques for developing predictive models to forecast the utilization rate of labor resources in construction projects, as well as for supporting project managers by providing forecasting tool for labor estimations at the work package level before detailed activity schedules have been generated. Accordingly, the proposed approach facilitates resource allocation and enables prioritization of available resources to enhance the overall performance of projects.
CHANGES IN LABOUR RESOURCES OF LOWER SILESIAN AGRICULTURE IN COMPARISON TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY
Subject and purpose of work: The aim of this article is to analyse changes in quantity and quality of the Lower Silesian Province agriculture labour resources against the background of national tendencies. Materials and methods: The research based on statistics covered the years 1999-2014 including prediction until 2020. The author’s own research carried out on the group of 282 responders in 2013 served the purpose of evaluating the level of farming culture. Results: It was proved, that the number of working-age men in the examined region was increasing much faster than in Poland which led to increase in agricultural labour resources and with that, to hidden unemployment. Lower Silesian farmers are characterized by general and agricultural education of higher degree than Polish average level. Though, it did not translate into entrepreneurship rates. Conclusions: The research proved that the education had a significant impact on the level of farming culture.
