III International Seminar on Pedagogical Practice
2020
The pedagogical practices are the various actions that the teacher executes to enhance the human development of the student. Within these activities are teaching, communicating, socializing experiences, reflecting from everyday life, evaluating cognitive processes and even interacting with the educational community. These practices require a conceptual, procedural and strategie preparation on the part of the teacher. Their knowledge will never be enough to achieve that their students as individuals or collectively manage to appropriate the seeds of knowledge that they must acquire. The riskiest teachers build their proposals for pedagogical practices within the framework of research projects, to obtain models that allow evaluating the effectiveness of their activities. Later, after an act of reflection and argumentation based on their own experiences as well as those of others, these innovative teachers manage to have sufficiënt arguments to socialize and disseminate their new knowledge and experience acquired. Analysis of student responses toward ethnoscience based Direct Instruction learning model in learning physics applying Rasch Model Approach
2021
The problem examined in this study was how students respond to learning with the Direct Instruction. Ethnoscience-based that connected the intensity and intensity of material with Bengkulu's dol music in teaching and learning activities. The aim of the researchers was to analyze students' responses to learning with the model Direct Instruction based on ethnoscience to find out whether the responses given by students were positive or negative. An analysis data using Rasch Model Approach. Student responses are said to be positive if students feel happy about the learning component used, the learning component used is new, students are interested in implementing the same learning in subsequent learning and students are interested in the learning components used. The results of the research obtained were 92% of students gave a positive response to learning with the model Direct Instruction based on ethnosains. In other words, students are happy with the components of learning that are applied.

The Application of Corpora on the Lexical Approach
2021
The linguistic scholars has used word frequency for research for a long time. With the rising of corpora study, researchers pay a lot attention to words and their frequency information, and even develop the teaching approach and teaching book. The Lexical Syllabus, The Lexical Approach and Data-Driven Leaning introduced by this paper are the representative of the development of corpora. From the background of this research, this paper gives the definition of some relative concepts, and discusses the arrangement of lexical syllabus and teaching content, and uses examples to explain the practice of The Lexical Approach.

Sociocultural Theory and Its Implications in College English Teaching and Learning in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
by
Zhou, Weiwei
2020
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, emerging as one of the three cutting-edge technologies in the 21st century, has greatly changed previous situations of different fields all over the world including education. The advancements in AI have brought college English into a brand new stage as AI serves as an important enabler in the reformation and development of college English teaching and learning. In this paper, the author firstly introduces the basic concepts of AI and Sociocultural Theory, which cast indispensible effects on foreign language acquisition. Then how AI influences educational resources, teachers and students of college English and collaborative activities are discussed. In spite of the benefits AI has brought, challenges and potential drawbacks are also presented. Therefore, it should be noticed that AI technology is properly applied in the field of college English teaching and learning.

Thinking styles and engineering: proposals for strengthening the professional training of engineers through physics courses
2020
One way to contribute to the strengthening of professional training processes in Engineering is through teaching and evaluation methods physics courses that promote those thinking styles that should be preferred by an engineer to solve tasks of their profession. Based on the above, the objective of this research was to identify those thinking styles that ideally a graduate of industrial civil engineering from a certain Chilean university should prefer to perform their profession tasks. Responding to this objective, it will be possible to generate educational proposals in physics courses for that career. For this, a qualitative methodology called thematic analysis was used. The data sources were semi-structured interviews with academics with enough experience in the career, besides the analysis of the institutional graduation profile. From a deductive perspective, according to the thinking styles, the ideal preferences for the egislative, judicial, global, hierarchical, liberal and external styles emerged as a result. Finally, a discussion was held on some teaching and evaluation methods that can be carried out in the physics courses of this career in order to promote these thinking styles.

Mathematics teacher' perceptions and adaptations in developing online classes - ideas for teacher training
2020
The wide availability of digital tools, as well as the current global pandemic has transformed the way in which teachers and students interact. This of course will have consequences on the learning of in physics and mathematics in the medium and long term. The objective of this research is to explore what are the feelings, difficulties and adaptations of the teachers to develop online classes. We reach this goal with support on the tetrahedron model for a didactical situation, which describes the interactions between student, teacher, content, and technology. Following a qualitative methodology, a survey of 48 in-service teachers was conducted to explore how teachers' knowledge and their use of digital tools influence teacher-student-technology interactions. The results showed that 65% of the participants feel prepared for online teaching, while 35% feel. However, there is not a big difference in the interactions they promote with the students. Teachers experiment a high level of negative emotions such as frustration and anxiety, many of these emotions were recognised in teachers feeling online teaching. The findings explain how emotional and infrastructural factors are related to the interactions in online teaching. The results have implications in physics and mathematics teacher training programs, the ways we teach physical and mathematical content, insofar we highlight those aspects into account to improve the students' learning.

Application of MATLAB in the teaching of probability theory and mathematical statistics
by
Zeng, Lihua
2020
\"Probability theory and mathematical statistics\" is an important public compulsory course of arithmetical foundation. MATLAB software is introduced into the teaching process to make some abstract concepts and theorems expressed in the form of graphics to achieve visualization effect. This method makes it easy for students to understand, improve their learning enthusiasm and achieve twice the result with half the effort.

The feasibility of electrostatic teaching material: Oriented to conceptual understanding
2021
Conceptual understanding is one of the important things in physics learning. Many factors affected the conceptual understanding of students; one of them was the book. Based on the data from the implementation of a questionnaire on junior high school students, their learning resources (books, etc.) have not been able to help them understand many concepts of physics including the concepts of electrostatics. Some abstract concepts in physics make them more difficult to understand physics. This study aimed to develop electrostatic teaching material-oriented to conceptual understanding for junior high school students. We use the ADDIE model, i.e., analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The result of this study shows that the teaching material is feasible to use in learning based on the feedback from validators.

Answering Islamic Questions with a Chatbot using Fuzzy String-Matching Algorithm
2020
The guidance of Muslims in worship refers to the holy Quran and the hadith. Not all people understand the law related to a case in accordance with Islamic teachings. Questions relating to a matter based on Islamic law are widely circulated on the Internet with long and detailed answers. This is good but for some people, a short and direct answer to the core is the desired answer, of course in accordance with the majority of Muslim scholars. One of the many technologies that can be used to answer questions is chatbot. A chatbot is one of many implementations of Natural Language Preprocessing. In this study, the chatbot can find answers to questions in accordance with Islamic law using the fuzzy string-matching algorithm. The research test data were obtained from several people who used chatbot directly by looking at pairs of questions and answers whether they were appropriate or not. The accuracy of the test is 70.37% and the chatbot's performance is quite good.
