Kontinuiteta frazeološkega gradiva nebiblijskega izvora v slovenskem knjižnem jeziku od srede 16. do konca 19. stoletja
V prispevku je predstavljena (dis)kontinuiteta frazeološkega gradiva, ki so ga v slovenski knjižni jezik v 16. stoletju uvajali protestantski pisci s prevajanjem nebiblijskih besedil. Analiza različnih slovarskih in besedilnih virov je pokazala, da se večina teh frazemov v slovenskem knjižnem jeziku naslednjih obdobij ni ohranila. Tudi ob pojavljanju podobnih frazemov tako v slovarskih kot v besedilnih virih je pogosto bolj verjetno, da je prihajalo do prepisovanja iz starejših virov ali vsakokratnih ponovnih prevodov istih izvorno nemških in redkeje latinskih frazemov, kot da so bili frazemi dejansko živi v rabi.
Oblikovna variantnost dvojinskih samostalniških končnic v slovenskem knjižnem jeziku 16. stoletja
V prispevku so predstavljene dvojinske končnice samostalnikov vseh treh spolov, izpričane v slovenskem knjižnem jeziku 16. stoletja. Na podlagi obsežnega gradiva so predstavljena razmerja med njimi ter glasovni in nalikovni procesi, ki so vplivali na razvoj dvojnic pri posameznih končnicah. S primerjavo med različnimi izdajami besedil slovenskih protestantskih piscev je opozorjeno tudi na smer jezikovnih sprememb v dvojinskih samostalniških sklanjatvah.1

Ali je vpliv čakavca Jurija Juričiča na razvoj slovenskega knjižnega jezika podcenjen?
Jurij Juričič, avtor tretjega najobsežnejšega slovenskega tiskanega dela v obdobju prote-stantizma, je bil v slovenskem jezikoslovju dolgo prezrt, njegove jezikovne inovacije pa so v kontekstu slovenskega knjižnega jezika 16. stoletja označene kot zastranitev. V prispevku je na 100 izbranih leksemih, ki so v 16. stoletju izpričani samo v Juričičevi Postilli (1578), analizirana kontinuiteta oz. diskontinuiteta besed v izbranih slovarskih virih do začetka 20. stoletja. Rezultati analize odgovarjajo na vprašanje, kakšen je vpliv Juričičeve Postille (1578) na razvoj besedja slovenskega knjižnega jezika zunaj okvira slovenske reformacije, in sicer a) v kolikšni meri so bili izbrani leksemi sprejeti v sodobni slovenski knjižni jezik in b) ali lahko zanje potrdimo kontinuiteto s 16. stoletjem ali pa so bili v sodobno slovenščino uvedeni neodvisno od Juričiča v procesu slavizacije v 19. stoletju.1
Corpus stylistics in Heart of Darkness and its Italian translations
\"This book explores the interaction between corpus stylistics and translation studies. It shows how corpus methods can be used to compare the style of literary texts to that of their translations, through the study of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness and four of its Italian versions. The comparison focuses on textual patterns and investigates their role as building blocks of fictional worlds. By combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, the book demonstrates that alterations to the original's linguistic features affect the representation of the fictional world in translation. This illuminates the manipulative effects that translating can have on the reception of a text, as changes in the fictional world may trigger different readings. The analysis illustrates how corpus methods can unveil the impact of translation on the connection between the formal and the interpretational level in literary texts. Three Translators in Search of an Author: Linguistic Strategies and Language Models in the (Re)translation of Shakespeare’s Plays into Catalan
This article shows how the language of Shakespeare’s plays has been rendered into Catalan in three especially significant periods: the late 19th century, the early 20th century, and the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The first section centres on the contrast between natural and unnatural language in Hamlet, and considers how this differentiation is carried out (by linguistic techniques that differ substantially from Shakespeare’s) in a late 19th-century Catalan adaptation by Gaietà Soler. The second part of the article investigates the reasons why in an early 20th-century translation of King Lear the translator, Anfòs Par, resorts to medieval instead of present-time language. The last section of the article illustrates how and explores the motivations why Salvador Oliva’s first (1985) version of The Tempest is retranslated in 2006 using a different language model. The ultimate aim of the paper is to put forward the hypothesis that, in the case of Catalan, Shakespearean translations are both a reflection of the current state of the language and a major linguistic experimentation that shapes and creates (sometimes through a via negativa) the Catalan literary language.
