Lloris confident France can take the positives from final woe and enjoy a bright future
2016
CAPTAIN Hugo Lloris insists he still sees a \"bright future\" for France even after the disappointment of their Euro 2016 final defeat to Portugal. \"We did our best and the most important thing is what we have created during the competition, between us, inside the team and the emotions that we've shared with all of the fans,\" Lloris said. \"This is one of the good memories and I think we can build up something strong for the next few years. The Tottenham keeper admitted that he was \"very disappointed\" with the result and said that Portugal just had the edge on France in terms of physical freshness and spirit. Portugal had three days' rest between their semi-final against Wales and the final, while France only had two, having played Germany on Thursday night in Marseille.

The British campaign gained renewed traction last year after a jarring incident in the Premier League in which Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was knocked unconscious during a collision with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku. Lloris's manager at the time, Andre Villas-Boas, was widely criticized for allowing Lloris to remain on the field for the last 12 minutes or so of the match. Chris Bryant, a former rugby player and a Labour member of Parliament who has led the effort, rose in the Commons to call Lloris's injury \"horrific.\"
