US: 9-year-old reporter defends homicide story
\"It kind of gets me angry because, just because I'm 9 doesn't mean I can't do a great story,\" she said on Tuesday. \"It doesn't mean I can't be a reporter.\" [Hilde Kate Lysiak] hit back with a video on her news site, posted on Sunday, first reading some of the comments aloud, including \"I am disgusted that this cute little girl thinks she is a real journalist. What happened to tea parties?\" and \"Nine-year-old girls should be playing with dolls, not trying to be reporters.\"

Kid presses on 8-year-old's little newspaper, big dreams
The four-page paper, named after [Hilde Lysiak]'s street, has published pieces about a tornado that swept through town and a bear sighting. \"Hide the picnic baskets Selinsgrove!\" read the secondary headline. She pounded the pavement for days to uncover her biggest scoop so far - a tale about a barking dog breaking up a home burglary. \"I asked for the address at the police station, and they wouldn't give it to me,\" Hilde said. \"But I knocked on every block until I found the right one.\" Even before Hilde was the subject of a 2,894-word profile in the Columbia Journalism Review, she drew the attention of Selinsgrove Mayor Jeff Reed. \"A lot of people in town are really impressed,\" Reed said, describing Hilde as \"intelligent beyond her age\" and \"very confident.\"

Apple reveals new TV platform, keeps silent on price
The new Apple TV – also becoming available in 100 countries worldwide – will start with a software update in May and will allow users to watch movies from Apple’s iTunes service, cable channels like HBO and Showtime, and other kinds of programming in a single app. Top tier talent Van Amberg and Erlicht were followed by Steven Spielberg, talking about his Amazing Stories reboot for Apple, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell, from the company’s comedy drama The Morning Show, J J Abrams, producer of music industry drama Little Voice, Jason Mamoa, from sci-fi series See, and Kumail Nanjiani, writer-producer of Apple’s comedy series Little America. Anonymous Content head Steve Golin, whose company is making comedy drama series Dickinson and an untitled Hilde Lysiak mystery show for Apple, expressed some surprise that the subscription service will launch in the autumn rather than this summer but said he was impressed with the tech giant’s new service offerings.
