Machine Design with CAD and Optimization
MACHINE DESIGN WITH CAD AND OPTIMIZATION A guide to the new CAD and optimization tools and skills to generate real design synthesis of machine elements and systems Machine Design with CAD and Optimization offers the basic tools to design or synthesize machine elements and assembly of prospective elements in systems or products.
Sustainable Development in Mechanical Engineering
Due to their specialized training, engineers play a crucial role in the design and development of new products and infrastructure, as well as in the creation of wealth. Consequently, engineers recognize that they have a specific responsibility in the performance of these functions to take such measures as are appropriate to safeguard the environment, health, safety and well-being of the public. This book proposes a series of sixteen practical cases, integrating knowledge from different fields.
A Review on Additive Manufacturing Possibilities for Electrical Machines
This paper presents current research trends and prospects of utilizing additive manufacturing (AM) techniques to manufacture electrical machines. Modern-day machine applications require extraordinary performance parameters such as high power-density, integrated functionalities, improved thermal, mechanical & electromagnetic properties. AM offers a higher degree of design flexibility to achieve these performance parameters, which is impossible to realize through conventional manufacturing techniques. AM has a lot to offer in every aspect of machine fabrication, such that from size/weight reduction to the realization of complex geometric designs. However, some practical limitations of existing AM techniques restrict their utilization in large scale production industry. The introduction of three-dimensional asymmetry in machine design is an aspect that can be exploited most with the prevalent level of research in AM. In order to take one step further towards the enablement of large-scale production of AM-built electrical machines, this paper also discusses some machine types which can best utilize existing developments in the field of AM.
Analysis and Design of Machine Elements
Incorporating Chinese, European, and International standards and units of measurement, this book presents a classic subject in an up-to-date manner with a strong emphasis on failure analysis and prevention-based machine element design.
Mechanical Design Engineering Handbook
This book is a straight-talking and forward-thinking reference covering the design, specification, selection, use and integration of machine elements fundamental to a wide range of engineering applications. Develop or refresh your mechanical design skills in the areas of bearings, shafts, gears, seals, belts and chains, clutches and brakes, springs, fasteners, pneumatics and hydraulics, amongst other core mechanical elements, and dip in for principles, data and calculations as needed to inform and evaluate your on-the-job decisions.
