Albanian opposition official backs US criticisms of government
According to [Pandeli Majko], everything is connected with what really happened in Gerdec [site of an arms disposal factory destroyed by a recent explosion]. \"The event in Gerdec is the gravest event to happen in Albania after the events in 1997. It has definitely taken its toll on Albania's relations with the international community. This incident definitely has had its effect on the international community. We should see things as they are,\" declared Majko.

Albanian defence minister promises revival of arms manufacturing plant
\"This factory has kept the town alive and vice-versa,\" Minister [Pandeli Majko] said in his speech. He then informed the citizens and the workers of the government decision to resume work in the plant and give compensation to the workers.
