\"After living his life with clockwork precision, a man throws any and all caution to the wind in this freewheeling comedy drama. Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) is a successful motivational speaker and author whose book \"The Five-Minute Efficiency Trainer\" advises readers that strict organization and avoiding impulsive behavior is the key to success. Frank is married to Susan (Emily Mortimer), who has been his sweetheart since college, but while he's happy, she's beginning to have second thoughts -- she chose to be with Frank rather than his best friend, Buddy (Stuart Townsend), because of his sweet and gentle nature, but his new habit of carefully budgeting every moment of the day has squeezed most of the fun out of their lives. After a quarrel with Susan leaves Frank in a troubled state of mind, he's enthusiastically propositioned by a sexy woman at a self-help seminar (Sarah Chalke), and has to take a pregnant woman (Jocelyne Loewen) to the hospital when he nearly runs her over on the street. Susan learns about Frank's day and comes to the mistaken conclusion that he's been unfaithful to her with both women. Susan leaves him and Frank decides that his hyper-organized life is to blame for the collapse of his marriage. Suddenly, Frank figures it's time to give his id full reign -- he buys a motorcycle, starts fist fights in bars, sleeps with strange women, takes up streaking, and does nearly everything the old Frank would warn him against\"--Allmovie.com, viewed January 5, 2018.
Addressing the Diagnostic Miscommunication in Pathology
2021
Abstract
Objectives
The pathology report serves as a crucial communication tool among a number of stakeholders. It can sometimes be challenging to understand. A communication barrier exists among pathologists, other clinicians, and patients when interpreting the pathology report, leaving both clinicians and patients less empowered when making treatment decisions. Miscommunication can lead to delays in treatment or other costly medical interventions.
Methods
In this review, we highlight miscommunication in pathology reporting and provide potential solutions to improve communication.
Results
Up to one-third of clinicians do not always understand pathology reports. Several causes of report misinterpretation include the use of pathology-specific jargon, different versions of staging or grading systems, and expressions indicative of uncertainty in the pathologist’s report. Active communication has proven to be crucial between the clinician and the pathologist to clarify different aspects of the pathology report. Direct communication between pathologists and patients is evolving, with promising success in proof-of-principle studies. Special attention needs to be paid to avoiding inaccuracy while trying to simplify the pathology report.
Conclusions
There is a need for active and adequate communication among pathologists, other clinicians, and patients. Clarity and consistency in reporting, quantifying the level of confidence in diagnosis, and avoiding misnomers are key steps toward improving communications.

The study of animal languages
\"Ivan is a tightly wound philosophy professor whose reverence for logic and order governs not only his academic interests, but also his closest relationships. His wife, Prue, is quite the opposite: a pioneer in the emerging field of biolinguistics, she is young and beautiful, full of life and feeling. Thus far, they have managed to weather their differences. But lately, an odd distance has settled in between them. Might it have something to do with the arrival of the college's dashing but insufferable new writer-in-residence, whose novel Prue always seems to be reading? Into this delicate moment barrels Ivan's unstable father-in-law, Frank, in town to hear Prue deliver a lecture on birdsong that is set to cement her tenure application. But the talk doesn't go as planned, unleashing a series of crises that force Ivan to finally confront the problems in his marriage, and to begin to fight--at last--for what he holds dear\"--Provided by publisher.
El mito como expresión del desentendimiento cultural en El país de la canela de William Ospina/The Myth as an Expression of Cultural Misunderstanding in El país de la canela by William Ospina
This article attempts to show how the Moreno-Durán's trilogy Feminci Suite produces an idea of what is \"national\" from the creation of a figurative space in which subjectivities are completely disarticulated and fragmented. The relations between subjectivities, that create the links that enable a community, are obstructed by a series of conditions that make this relations never happen and lead to a split figuration of society. Tesis doctoral inédita presentada en el Department of Romance Language and Literature, Washington University, Saint Louis, Missouri.

ISSUES RAISED CONCERNING IBN ĀJURRŪM’S TEXT
2025
The research aims to trace some of the issues that may be raised concerning Ibn Ājurrūm’s text. In certain expressions, the author’s intended meaning is not entirely clear at first glance, or some of his statements may give rise to misunderstanding, or he may adopt a particular grammatical view. The researcher sought to identify these issues and clarify the aspects of ambiguity or the questions they provoke. These issues include several chapters of the text, whether in definitions or in other subjects mentioned by the author. Some of them may appear contrary to what is commonly held by grammarians, or even to what the author himself explicitly stated elsewhere. They were presented in the form of discrete issues. And Allah is the only grantor of success and care.

Miscommunication
2024
The work Da Identificação by Galdino Ramos was one of the foundations used by Locard when developing his tripartite rule. As far as we could see, it was also Brazil's first technical-scientific work on fingerprints. Despite its relevance to forensic sciences, Ramos' study was not readily available to the interested public. In possession of a copy of Da Identificação, questions raised by scholars such as Christophe Champod and Glenn Langenburg could be clarified, and even a misunderstanding by Locard himself could be observed. So, it can be considered that rediscovering Ramos' work was found to be the last missing piece of the puzzle of Locard's tripartite rule history.

Otherhood : a novel
\"Gillian, Helen, and Carol are three suburban mothers who have known each other since their respective sons were babies, and have met in a regular coffee group for years. These days, their sons are a bunch of thirty-four-year-old slackers: they have no wives and no children, never call, and seem unlikely to outgrow their post-adolescent lifestyles anytime soon. After yet another fruitless Mother's Day, Carol has an outlandish but irresistible idea: each woman will go drop in on her son for an unexpected weeklong visit and find out what's really keeping him from responsible adult life. Together, and with mixed success, the mothers set out to whip their sons into shape.\"-- Amazon.
Beyond Performance: Why Leaders Still Matter
2025
In their response to \"Misunderstanding Democratic Backsliding,\" Francis Fukuyama, Chris Dann, and Beatriz Magaloni defend the proposition that democracies' failure to deliver is a primary cause of democratic backsliding. Yet evidence that poor economic performance correlates with citizen dissatisfaction with democracy falls short as an explanation of backsliding. Democracy has persisted in some faltering economies while eroding in various strong economies. Moreover, the leaders driving the rise of electoral autocracy were often elected promising to reform, not dismantle, democracy. A focus on the methods and motivations of such leaders, and the failure of existing guardrails to constrain them, remains essential to explaining democracy backsliding.
