Introduction to MATLAB for engineers and scientists : solutions for numerical computation and modeling
Familiarize yourself with MATLAB using this concise, practical tutorial that is focused on writing code to learn concepts. Starting from the basics, this book covers array-based computing, plotting and working with files, numerical computation formalism, and the primary concepts of approximations. 'Introduction to MATLAB' is useful for industry engineers, researchers, and students who are looking for open-source solutions for numerical computation.
Numerical Methods
2012
Numerical Methods using MATLAB, 3e, is an extensive reference offering hundreds of useful and important numerical algorithms that can be implemented into MATLAB for a graphical interpretation to help researchers analyze a particular outcome.
Advanced numerical methods with Matlab 1 : function approximation and system resolution
Most physical problems can be written in the form of mathematical equations (differential, integral, etc.). Mathematicians have always sought to find analytical solutions to the equations encountered in the different sciences of the engineer (mechanics, physics, biology, etc.). These equations are sometimes complicated and much effort is required to simplify them. In the middle of the 20th century, the arrival of the first computers gave birth to new methods of resolution that will be described by numerical methods. They allow solving numerically as precisely as possible the equations encountered (resulting from the modeling of course) and to approach the solution of the problems posed. The approximate solution is usually computed on a computer by means of a suitable algorithm. The objective of this book is to introduce and study the basic numerical methods and those advanced to be able to do scientific computation. The latter refers to the implementation of approaches adapted to the treatment of a scientific problem arising from physics (meteorology, pollution, etc.) or engineering (structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, signal processing, etc.).-- Provided by Publisher.
Hands-On Data Analysis with NumPy and pandas
2018,2024
Get to grips with the most popular Python packages that make data analysis possible Key Features * Explore the tools you need to become a data analyst * Discover practical examples to help you grasp data processing concepts * Walk through hierarchical indexing and grouping for data analysis Book Description Python, a multi-paradigm programming language, has become the language of choice for data scientists for visualization, data analysis, and machine learning. Hands-On Data Analysis with NumPy and Pandas starts by guiding you in setting up the right environment for data analysis with Python, along with helping you install the correct Python distribution. In addition to this, you will work with the Jupyter notebook and set up a database. Once you have covered Jupyter, you will dig deep into Python's NumPy package, a powerful extension with advanced mathematical functions. You will then move on to creating NumPy arrays and employing different array methods and functions. You will explore Python's pandas extension which will help you get to grips with data mining and learn to subset your data. Last but not the least you will grasp how to manage your datasets by sorting and ranking them. By the end of this book, you will have learned to index and group your data for sophisticated data analysis and manipulation. What you will learn * Understand how to install and manage Anaconda * Read, sort, and map data using NumPy and pandas * Find out how to create and slice data arrays using NumPy * Discover how to subset your DataFrames using pandas * Handle missing data in a pandas DataFrame * Explore hierarchical indexing and plotting with pandas Who this book is for Hands-On Data Analysis with NumPy and Pandas is for you if you are a Python developer and want to take your first steps into the world of data analysis. No previous experience of data analysis is required to enjoy this book.
Matlab
2011
MATLAB: A Practical Introduction to Programming and Problem Solving, Second Edition, is the only book that gives a full introduction to programming in MATLAB combined with an explanation of MATLAB's powerful functions, enabling engineers to fully exploit the software's power to solve engineering problems.
System simulation techniques with MATLAB and simulink
2013
System Simulation Techniques with MATLAB and Simulink comprehensively explains how to use MATLAB and Simulink to perform dynamic systems simulation tasks for engineering and non-engineering applications. This book begins with covering the fundamentals of MATLAB programming and applications, and the solutions to different mathematical problems in simulation. The fundamentals of Simulink modelling and simulation are then presented, followed by coverage of intermediate level modelling skills and more advanced techniques in Simulink modelling and applications. Finally the modelling and simulation of engineering and non-engineering systems are presented. The areas covered include electrical, electronic systems, mechanical systems, pharmacokinetic systems, video and image processing systems and discrete event systems. Hardware-in-the-loop simulation and real-time application are also discussed. Key features: * Progressive building of simulation skills using Simulink, from basics through to advanced levels, with illustrations and examples * Wide coverage of simulation topics of applications from engineering to non-engineering systems * Dedicated chapter on hardware-in-the-loop simulation and real time control * End of chapter exercises * A companion website hosting a solution manual and powerpoint slides System Simulation Techniques with MATLAB and Simulink is a suitable textbook for senior undergraduate/postgraduate courses covering modelling and simulation, and is also an ideal reference for researchers and practitioners in industry.
