Dissecting the Franco-Rwandese Alliance in Southern Africa
This paper dissects the alliance between France and Rwanda in the fight against terrorism and insurgency by Ansa al Sunna in the Cabo Delgado Province in Mozambique. The paper aims to unmask the French national interests in exploiting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and oil in Mozambique thereby establishing an alliance with Rwanda to deploy its troops to preserve their interests. The main purpose of the study is to analyse the Franco-Rwandese alliance in the exploitation of LNG and oil in the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique. The paper appeals to Secondary Research as its methodology and it uses the Natural Resource Curse as its theoretical Framework. This paper strives to rectify the fact that most researches on African natural resources blame African governments’ maladministration while disregarding western countries’ involvement in exploiting the natural resources. The findings of this research reveal that French multinational companies, among other western countries, are making huge profits from LNG and oil exploitation in the Cabo Delgado Province while Mozambicans are languishing in extreme poverty and unemployment among other issues.

He was answering questions from journalists who asked whether it was true, as Renamo had claimed, that Mozambican forces had attacked Renamo bases in the Gorongosa mountain range, in the central province of Sofala, with \"weapons of mass destruction\" last week. [Filipe Nyusi] denied there had been any \"bombardment\". He said \"what happens is that our security forces respond, and pursue their attackers to ensure that they won't be attacked again. In this pursuit, there are exchanges of fire. We can't say that these are bombardments\".
