Similarity detection method of science fiction painting based on multi-strategy improved sparrow search algorithm and Gaussian pyramid
Although image detection technology is widely used in various fields, there is still a large gap in the similarity detection of science fiction painting. Therefore, a similarity detection method for science fiction painting is proposed. Firstly, a k-layer pyramid image is created for the source image to be detected and the template image. Then, multi-strategy improved sparrow algorithm (MISSA) is used to perform rough matching in the top subgraph of the source image to obtain the coordinates of the initial matching target, the location transferred from the layer above each layer is the starting point of search, and pixel by pixel matching is carried out within the set window range. Finally, pHash is used as the similarity measure to calculate the similarity of matching results. The hybrid search strategy based on step function, multi-stage dynamic control of safety threshold, and food search strategy based on Logistic model are used to improve sparrow search algorithm, thereby forming MISSA to improve the accuracy and real-time performance in the matching process. In terms of performance verification of MISSA, the rationality and effectiveness of the three improved strategies are verified by ablation experiment, and the experimental results on CEC2017 benchmark function show that the optimization performance and convergence performance of MISSA are better than that of peer algorithms. The comparison results in the similarity detection experiment of science fiction painting fully verify that the proposed detection method has strong robustness in meeting the requirements of real-time and accuracy of matching.

The Lighting Design of Hardy's Novels
This essay argues that the phenomenology of light in Thomas Hardy's novels affords a key to his representation of subjectivity. The lighting of most scenes in nineteenth-century fiction is never specified. But from the spectacular lighting effects of Hardy's early sensation novel,Desperate Remedies(1871), to the futile quest for the \"City of Light\" inJude the Obscure(1895) and the burned-out pyrotechnics of his last narrative,The Well-Beloved(1897), the light of Hardy's fiction is marked in a double sense—both described in detail and registered as exceptional. Rather than a figure for enlightenment, as in the realist novels of George Eliot and others, Hardy's light is the medium of subjectivity, and it characteristically occludes and distorts as much as it illuminates. Like the painter J.M.W. Turner, whose art the novelist excitedly recognized as an analogue of his own, Hardy represents light not as an absence to be looked through but as something to be lookedatand closely observed in all its varieties.

The improbability of love
Annie McDee, thirty-one, lives in a shabby London flat, works as a chef, and is struggling to get by. Reeling from a sudden breakup, she's taken on an unsuitable new lover and finds herself rummaging through a secondhand shop to buy him a birthday gift. A dusty, anonymous old painting catches her eye. After spending her meager savings on the artwork, Annie prepares an exquisite birthday dinner for two--only to be stood up. The painting becomes hers, and Annie begins to suspect that it may be more valuable than she'd thought. Soon she finds herself pursued by parties who would do anything to possess her picture: an exiled Russian oligarch, an avaricious sheik ha, an unscrupulous art dealer. In her search for the painting's identity, Annie will unwittingly discover some of the darkest secrets of European history--and the possibility of falling in love again.
Afrofuturisms : ecology, humanity, and francophone cultural expressions
An exploration of Francophone African literary imaginations and expressions through the lens of Afrofuturism Generally attributed to the Western imagination, science fiction is a literary genre that has expressed projected technological progress since the Industrial Revolution. However, certain fantastical elements in African literary expressions lend themselves to science fiction interpretations, both utopian and dystopian. When the concept of science is divorced from its Western, rationalist, materialist, positivist underpinnings, science fiction represents a broad imaginative space that supersedes the limits of this world. Whether it be on the moon, under the sea, or elsewhere within the imaginative universe, Afrofuturist readings of select films, novels, short stories, plays, and poems reveal a similarly emancipatory African future that is firmly rooted in its own cultural mythologies, cosmologies, and philosophies.Isaac Joslin identifies the contours and modalities of a speculative, futurist science fiction rooted in the sociocultural and geopolitical context of continental African imaginaries. Constructing an arc that begins with gender identity and cultural plurality as the bases for an inherently multicultural society, this project traces the essential role of language and narrativity in processing traumas that stem from the violence of colonial and neocolonial interventions in African societies.Joslin then outlines the influential role of discursive media that construct divisions and create illusions about societal success, belonging, and exclusion, while also identifying alternative critical existential mythologies that promote commonality and social solidarity. The trajectory proceeds with a critical analysis of the role of education in affirming collective identity in the era of globalization; the book also assesses the market-driven violence that undermines efforts to instill and promote cultural and social autonomy.Last, this work proposes an egalitarian and ecological ethos of communal engagement with and respect for the diversity of the human and natural worlds.
