  Her marriage to Welby MacCollom in 1967 led to many happy years in Sterling, Mass. She was active in The First Church in Sterling and the Historical Society. They moved to Milbridge, Maine in 1985 where they restored a century old house. She was an avid collector of teddy bears, enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling and had a special place in her heart for the dogs that were lucky enough to be her pets through the years. In Milbridge she enjoyed her many friends, neighbors, volunteering with the Milbridge Historical Society, being an active member of the Milbridge Congregational Church and faithfully visiting the Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 3 at 11 a.m. in The First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling, MA. A private burial will take place at the Hillside Cemetery in Sterling. At Polly's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West - 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, attention Contribution Services or to The Ark Animal Shelter, P.O.
