Oh Canada! Jonathan Roy Wins Record Breaking PartyPoker.net WPT Montreal
The inaugural PartyPoker.net WPT Montreal broke and set a number of records and was truly a triumphant return for the World Poker Tour to Canada after a four year absence. With 1173 entries it was the third largest WPT event (by number of entries) in history (8 entries off of second spot - 1st and 2nd spot both Borgata, Atlantic City). It was the largest poker tournament over $1,000 buy in in Canadian poker history and the largest WPT ever in Canada. Hosts Playground Poker Club increased their total capacity by over 75% in the three months approaching the tournament and was optimistically expecting 600 players. National broadcaster CBC reported on the record turnout at: http://bit.ly/TtFQvk.

Minnesota makes it Wild affair in third period
There have been more than a few surprises sprung by the Minnesota Wild this season, no doubt about that. Minnesota's response, though, was a bit more startling, even if the Wild wound up losing, 3-2. It took 40 minutes of ice time and a seemingly irreversible deficit to get any of the Wild's lines similarly interested. Barely a minute into the third period, [Jim Dowd] redirected a slap shot from [Pascal Dupuis] to get Minnesota on the board. Two minutes later, Dupuis made it a game, corralling a loose puck at the blue line and beating [Patrick Roy] glove side to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Moyes ready to blood youngsters in Borisov
\"While it is disappointing we don't have the pick of all our players, that doesn't make our involvement any less enjoyable,\" [David Moyes] said. \"It [European qualification] is something that we as a club always wanted. Finishing fifth last season was a great achievement, so I am really looking forward to this match.\" \"We certainly don't see Europe as a distraction, we regard it as an interesting adventure,\" [Roy Hodgson] said. \"If you don't want distractions then you should refuse the offer to qualify for Europe. There was never any question of us doing that. We tried to finish as high as we could in the Premier League last season.\" \"We've found it difficult to register [Pascal Zuberbuhler] because of the restrictions,\" Hodgson continued. \"You have to have so many home-grown players and we don't have any. Twenty-five players for most teams becomes 20 for us because of that. I am hoping he'll be on the list for tomorrow otherwise we'll be in serious trouble. I'm confident that our wish to exchange [David Stockdale]'s name for Zuberbuhler will be OK. Normally you're allowed to make the change with 24 hours notice.\"

Europa League won't distract Hodgson
\"We certainly don't see Europe as a distraction, we regard it as an interesting adventure. It's a test for the squad but we're strong enough to select a team to win tomorrow and on Sunday in the Premier League.\" \"We've found it difficult to register [Pascal Zuberbuhler] because of the restrictions that meant we had to leave him off the list,\" said [ROY Hodgson]. \"You have to have so many homegrown players and we don't have any. Twenty-five players for most teams becomes 20 for us because of that. I am hoping he'll be on the list for tomorrow because otherwise we'll be in serious trouble as we don't have any other keepers.\"
