37 years on, Emma Peel has lost no appeal as TV's sexiest woman
As Mrs [Emma Peel], the emancipated spy in The Avengers, Dame Diana fuelled schoolboy fantasies so decisively that they grew into fortysomethings with memories long enough to name her, yesterday, the sexiest star in television history. She has been saved such a fate by a poll in the US TV Guide, whose editors concluded that Emma Peel took Dame Diana to the top spot in the 50 sexiest television stars of all time. Denzel Washington, who starred in the hospital soap St Elsewhere, is at four. It has been a \"good\" week for Dame Diana, who is currently the chancellor of Stirling University, where a spokesman said: \"It's a great privilege to work with her, and she has enjoyed a series of such honours.\"
