[...]in May 1940, at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, came the famous squabble between Fazola and Ray Conniff, which prompted Faz to leave the band. Fazola was featured on Two O 'Clock Jump and it was reported that he led a Hot Eight from within in the band, including Jimmy Troutman, trumpet, Bill Mustard, trombone, Hugh Hudgings, tenor, Frankie Carle, piano, Russ Bennett, guitar, Jimmy Middleton, bass, Hack O'Brien, drums.14 Fazola's stay with Heidt lasted a few weeks only, ending while the band was at the Capitol Theatre in New York. \"19 Louis Armstrong and the All Stars were in town between February 27 and March 3, 1949 for Mardi Gras, when Louis was crowned King of the Zulus.
