Feb. 27--Lake Wylie angler Jason Quinn finished ninth in the Bassmaster Classic on Lay Lake in Birmingham, Ala., this weekend after catching 15 fish weighing 38 pounds, one ounce in three days.

Jan. 30--Lake Wylie angler Jason Quinn became one of 50 qualifiers for the 37th Bassmaster Classic, to be held Feb. 23-25 on Lay Lake near Birmingham, Ala.

Fields for Bassmaster majors are made up of the top 50 anglers that qualify through several categories. The top ten all-time money winners qualify, as do the reigning Bassmaster Classic, Angler of the Year and Rookie of the Year winners. The current leader in the Rookie of the Year chase also qualifies. The rest of the field comes from the top anglers in a combined ranking of Angler of the Year standings during the past three seasons.
