An evaluation strategy for relay protection status based on the cloud model
2024
After the relay protection secondary equipment is put into operation for a period of time, it will be affected by aging, faults, and other factors, resulting in the gradual decline of the health state of the equipment. Therefore, considering the uncertainty of the influencing factors of equipment aging fault, a relay protection state evaluation method based on the cloud model is proposed. The factors affecting the real-time health state of equipment were analysed, the evaluation indexes were selected, and the weights of each index were calculated. Considering the randomness and fuzziness of the influence factors, a comprehensive evaluation model was established based on boundary fuzzy processing and cloud parameter calculation. Finally, an example was given to verify the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Analysis of the influence factors for the relay valve
2025
In view of the large deviation between the characteristic curve obtained from the actual test and the theoretical curve for some relay valves, according to the working principle of the relay valve, the simulation model of the relay valve, including the internal structure parameters, is established by using AMESim. The accuracy of the model is verified by establishing the characteristic test, and the influence of the key components of the relay valve is analyzed by using the simulation model. The practice results show that the establishment of the model provides a powerful reference for the optimization design of the relay valve.

Design and development of a tool-less wiring phoenix terminal relay protection test adapter
2025
In relay protection testing work, the disassembly and wiring steps of the terminal block signal circuit of the protection device are complex and risky, involving the disassembly and assembly of screws and signal wires, as well as the fixing screws after the pin connection, etc. This not only increases the difficulty of operation but also can easily lead to miswiring, accidental contact of signal lines, and other safety incidents, which may cause the protection devices to malfunction. To improve testing efficiency and ensure the safety of the testing process, this paper designs and develops a Phoenix terminal relay protection test adapter that does not require disassembly and wiring. The adapter aims to simplify the wiring process, reduce the difficulty of operation, effectively avoid safety risks caused by misoperation, and provide a more convenient and safe solution for relay protection testing work.

Smart things & femtocells : from hype to reality
This book provides a comprehensive overview for the use of femtocells in smart Internet of Things (IoT) environments. Femtocells will help mobile operators to provide a basis for the next generation of services which are a combination of voice, video, and data services to mobile users. This book discusses modelling traffic and deployment strategies in femtocells and provides a review for the use of femtocells and their applications in IoT environments. Moreover, it highlights the efficient real-time medium access, data delivery, caching and security aspects in smart spaces. It concludes by presenting open research issues associated with smart IoT-femtocell based applications-- Provided by publisher.
Life Prediction of Railway Relay Based on an Attention Mechanism TCN-BiGRU Model
2025
To address the problem of accurate and efficient prediction of railway relay lifespan, this study proposes an electrical lifespan prediction method for railway relays based on the integration of attention mechanisms, Temporal Convolutional Network and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit. Considering the potential variability in the importance of temporal features, we introduce an attention mechanism to reallocate feature weights dynamically. The TCN module is employed to extract local temporal features from relay operation data, while the BiGRU component is utilized to capture long-term dependencies and obtain global temporal information. Experimental validation was conducted using characteristic parameters extracted from a railway DC relay electrical lifespan testing system platform. The results indicate that the proposed model outperforms in terms of prediction accuracy (with an average of 96.85% precision), minimal error rate, and enhanced stability compared with existing models, thereby confirming the practical feasibility of this prediction framework.

Energy is vital parameter for communication in Internet of Things (IoT) applications via Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). Genetic algorithms with dynamic clustering approach are supposed to be very effective technique in conserving energy during the process of network planning and designing for IoT. Dynamic clustering recognizes the cluster head (CH) with higher energy for the data transmission in the network. In this paper, various applications, like smart transportation, smart grid, and smart cities, are discussed to establish that implementation of dynamic clustering computing-based IoT can support real-world applications in an efficient way. In the proposed approach, the dynamic clustering-based methodology and frame relay nodes (RN) are improved to elect the most preferred sensor node (SN) amidst the nodes in cluster. For this purpose, a Genetic Analysis approach is used. The simulations demonstrate that the proposed technique overcomes the dynamic clustering relay node (DCRN) clustering algorithm in terms of slot utilization, throughput and standard deviation in data transmission.
