Bryan's Young is an All-America
* DAYTON, Tenn. -- Bryan College baseball coach Tyler Hasty announced Friday the signing of outfielder Justin McCarty from Louisville, Ky., to the Lions team for 2009-10. Going into his senior season, McCarty is a three-year starter and team captain for Eastern High School and has hit above .300 the past two years, Hasty said. Eastern's Eagles went 33-6 last year and wound up ranked fifth in the state, and McCarty was second on the team in both home runs and runs batted in. He also has a 3.9 grade point average and made a 25 on the ACT. \"He will fit in well with our program,\" Hasty said, \"and he will be competing for playing time as a freshman in the outfield with his speed and quick hands at the plate.\" McCarty said he plans to major in business and was impressed with [Bryan]'s business program. \"They are a Christian school, and I like Coach Hasty,\" he said.
