How could my attacker's jail term be cut?
\"I'm trying to block out the pain but it's hard,\" she said. \"I still sit for hours staring into space, trying to understand why this had to happen. \"A day doesn't sound much but when you've spent months thinking of nothing else it's progress. I can't think about the future like he is. To even appeal is a disgusting thing to do. He doesn't seem to care about what he's done and the judges fell for it. \"He claimed he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing but he didn't seem drunk to me. He knew what he was doing and he didn't think for a second that he was destroying someone's life.\"
Soft sentence
Now judges at London's Criminal Appeal Court have cut his prison time by 10 months after agreeing the sentence was \"excessive\" for a single rape. [Callum Robinson]'s lawyers at the Criminal Appeal Court told judges he was very drunk and \"genuinely believed the woman was consenting\". \"There are countless examples these days of the most violent and perverted people being released back into society before they have paid the appropriate custodial penalty. \"Our sympathies are with his victim and her family, who will undoubtedly be distraught at this inexplicable decision.\"
RAPIST STRUCK DAYS BEFORE VICTIM WED
\"She formed the view her boyfriend was asking the female to do something she did not want to do. She was concerned about the female and formed the view the female was being raped.\" \"I'd like to commend the victim for her courage throughout the court process.\" Detective Chief Insp Peter Reeve, of Newcastle area command, added: \"When a report of rape is made to police we will do everything possible to trace offenders and work with our partners to provide all the support we can. We would also encourage other victims who may be suffering in silence to come forward.\"
Rapist was trapped by phone call
[Callum Robinson], 23, who lived on Ambridge Way, then came across her and offered to help. Meanwhile, Robinson's girlfriend had been trying to phone him after he left their house. Amanda Rippon, prosecuting at New-castlCrown Court, said: \"Around 1.05am the phone answered and it must have been inadvertently. \"She could hear a female crying, and heard the defendant aggressively shouting: 'Come on.' \"She formed the view her boyfriend was asking the female to do something she did not want to do, and she was concerned about the female and formed the view the female was being raped.\"
It's Green for go as Andre targets six points
\"From a team perspective, we have two home matches coming up now and we're determined to get back on track,\" [Andre Green] said. \"For me, I am determined to keep improving and be an important player for the manager as we look to move up the table quickly.\" With [Villa] desperate for goals, there will be a touch of irony about Callum Robinson's return to Villa Park this weekend. The Bodymoor Heath academy graduate has bagged seven goals for Preston this season - that's more than Ross McCormack, Gabby Agbonlahor and Jordan Ayew combined. A close friend of Jack Grealish, the pair will inevitably be in contact before Saturday's clash. Up until now, Robinson has been in the Villa attacker's shadows but that's no longer the case.
Callum joy after making most of his second shot
[Callum Robinson] admits it has been a \"life-changing\" 12 months and his new deal gives him the security to try to kick on to regular first-team football. \"Obviously the season I've had I wouldn't really have expected,\" he said. \"If I'm not doing it right he'll tell me. He's helped me massively in the last year. He's got faith in me so I've just got to make sure I perform and give it him back.\" \"It probably was a turning point and that's where the gaffer got to see me, because I was injured. He said 'well done.'\".\"
Robinson up and running for season
Villa's forward department now includes just [CALLUM Robinson], Gabby Agbonlahor, who missed yesterday's match, and Libor Kozak, although [Tim Sherwood] is working hard to bring in reinforcements, including Lorient's Jordan Ayew. \"I've scored a few for the reserves and stuff. Even though it's pre-season, a goal's a goal and at least I've got off the mark now for the season. \"It's good, he brings something different to me,\" added Robinson. \"He's a lot bigger but he still does run in behind. It's been good playing with him. I've played with him a few times in pre-season now and hopefully he gets much more game-time this season as well.\"
RAPED ON HEN NIGHT.. WED 4 DAYS LATER
Dizzy and disorientated, her dress was torn and streaked with mud, her feet were bare and her tights, undies and handbag were missing. [Victoria] said: \"I was crying and shaking. I didn't have a clue what was happening. A female officer told me I was safe and gently explained they were taking me home.\" Arriving at her home, he put his fiance's fears to rest as he tenderly took her in his arms. Victoria said: \"At first Richard didn't say anything, he just held me as I cried. Then he sat me in front of him and told me that he would always be there for me no matter what. Then he held my hand and I knew that he didn't care what had happened. Victoria, who now lives with Richard in Army barracks at Antrim, said: \"I didn't want to give [Callum Robinson] the satisfaction of seeing me at the Appeal Court. He's shown absolutely no remorse for what he did to me that night, and apparently his sentence was reduced because it was deemed 'excessive' for a single rape. The judge might have thought so - but it didn't feel excessive to me.\"
